Halloween
Me – a zombie
One day I was sitting on the bench. A girl came along and asked me who I were. I´m a zombie! Boohoo-hoo! Get away from me!, I told her. Do not call me for I´m a scary zombie! Can I ask you
something?, said the little girl. Can I call you by your nickname? The girl´s fear was almost touchable
but she didn't run away. I told her my nickname.
See you soon! Do not forget my name!
Every day I, the scary zombie, visit the girl.

A scary story
The night has fallen, and Halloween was there. The witches can not touch me because I´m a zombie, a
ruler of darkness and cemeteries. At night I wake up and watch for someone not to disturb my world of
darkness. I rejoyce mostly when someone is scared and I destroy his/her life because, after all, I am the
Queen of the zombies.

Being a ghost
If I could be a ghost, I´d choose to be a scary ghost. I´d travel by night to all those people who had
insulted me just to teach them some common sense. I´d teach them a lesson. After teaching them a
lesson, I´d toy with them a bit. I would come by night and make them dance of horror. I would jump at
them, pluck their hair, make their faces change colours and make them scream.

A monster under my bed
One night I went to sleep very early because I was tired.
After midnight, under my bed, I heard some mumbling and scratching as if someone under my
bed was very angry.
I thought I was dreaming and I continued to sleep. But as soon as I turned around to the other
side, it started again. I took the torch and peeped under the bed.
When there, someone was under my bed. I got scared and screamed, and something screamed
under my bed, too.
I pulled a blanket over my head when someone rushed into my bed and pulled the blanket over
his head, too. Fear! Shock! Panic! I couldn´t open my eyes! But I had to. I bravely opened my
eyes and looked at the monster – sweet, little, scared, just like me, with two glittening eyes and
only two teeth. The monster has been living in a box full of books for very long time. He read
all of them and now he´s bored and cold.
He waited for me to get scared, but he has never not seen such a brave and sleepy little girl.
He was banging every night, throwing my stuff all over the place but I did not wake up.
In the morning when I woke up he was gone and the books weren't there, too. But one biscuit
was left in the box as a sign that he was really there.

If I could have any magical power
If I could have any magical power, I'd choose power over water because I would use it to make my
palace of ice. I would make statues of Olaf the Snowman as well as Princess Elsa and princess Anna
out of ice. I think I would be very happy in my icy kingdom.

If I had any magical power, I would be a magical power over water. I'd choose water because in winter

with its help.

If I were a robot
If I were a robot I'd want to be a very specific one. So let's imagine I'm a robot. My name is Shapy
because I have got lots of different shapes on my body. I'm made of metal but if I get rusty I can repair
myself. I like my shapes. My favourites are circle and triangle. So this is what I look like: my head is
a circle, my chest and the rest of the body are shaped like a rectangle, just like my legs and arms; my
hands are triangles with circles on finger tops, and my feet are like 90° corner triangles. There are lots
of colours on my body, too.My favourite ones are blue and green. So my head is yellow, my chest and
the rest of the body are coloured in rainbow colours with black spots. My arms and legs are green and
blue (my left arm is green, my right one is blue, but my left leg is blue and my right one is green); my
fingers and the circles on them are red and pink while my feet are orange. I'm one very, very big robot.
I'm one very, very busy robot as well. I can do a lot of things: I can walk, talk, eat, sleep, grow just like
humans, but I can't have children. I like to talk to animals and nature itself as well as to take long
walks through forest. I like to eat everything: meat, fruit, vegetables. I am 150 centimeters tall and I
can travel to other planets. I can do housework, work in the industry and many other things. I'd like to
work in the colour industry, with paper and cars as well and I'd like to work at school.
I would like to be a robot because it is cool and unusual ...and I like to do unusual things.
I want to be just like Shappy.
I love robots.

taken to King Leo. The King believes that Jamal is a mesenger from Normandy because England and
Normandy are at war. Jamal introduces himself as Jamal Sky Walker. He's made a lord and a head of
security. After that he meets Victoria and with her help he soon realizes that he must help King Leo
and bring the throne back to the queen. He's successful thanks to Victoria and after Queen's back to the
throne, he is knighted. A moment after that he awakes and he's back in the theme park. Several
minutes later he meets a young woman named Nicole who looks just like Victoria. When he tries to
catch up with her, he falls back and wakes up in the Roman Colosseum among the lions.

Monuments in danger
Machu Picchu is and old Inca town from the 15th century. It's located at 2430 meters above the sea
level in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machupicchu District in Peru. Archeologists believe
that Machu Picchu was built for the Inca emperor Pichacuti in the classical Inca style with dry- stone
walls. Some believe that it was the lost Inca city and was built for the virgins of Sun as well as to
honour a sacred landscape.Till 1911 Machu Picchu remained hidden from the world but Hurman
Binghum found it and after that Machu Picchu became a popular tourist attraction. It was added to
UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. In 2007 it was chosen as one of the New Seven Wonders of the
World. Approximately 650 000 people visit it each year. Today Entrance is limited to 2500 visitors per
day.

A world of wonderful art
A vomit – new painting technique?!
A vomit painter Millie Brown creates what some people call “art“. She creates it by drinking coloured
milk and regurgitating it onto a white canvas or even on her own dress. She has mastered the art of
regurgitation and uses her talent to create actual art. Her work requires her to drink coloured milk and
simply vomit on a white canvas. In that way she creates abstract paintings which are worth thousands
of dollars.
One of Brown's artwork Nexus Vomitus, created to an acoustic accompaniment by two opera singers
Patricia Hamm and Zita Syme , was sold for 2400 dollars which is simply mind blowing.

A brilliant Malaysian
This planet is full of wonderful and a bit weird artists and I've opted for one of them: Hong Yi. She is a
27-year old Malaysian artist and architect. She has graduaded in Australia and has started her work
there. She is known as the artist who loves to paint, but with no paintbrush- that means that she loves
to use everything else...everything except for the paintbrush... even some strange things as basketballs.
Yes, you've heard it right – the basketballs. One day she made a portrait of one Chinese basketball
player using a basketball, red paint and the floor. She likes to work and create artwork with food, too.
In one interview she said that she loves to work with materials that are related to the subject's culture (
subjects of her artworks, of course) and different background items. She is known by her nickname
Red. She has won lots of prizes such as : Perspective Hong Kong under 40 Designers Award in 2013,
Esquire Magazine's 12 Award in 2010 and 2012, TED xkl Award in 2013 and many more.

City life vs country lifeadventages and disadventages
I live in Moravice. Moravice is in the country. I love the country life. In Moravice there is a beautiful
forest and a river as well. The river's name is Dobra. Moravice are a beautiful little village in a valley.
Some of the adventages of the country life are: the forest, the river, the fresh air, no pollution, nice and
familiar people, wild animals, 2 lakes, Ledena jama.... In Moravice there are many more natural pearls
like the Šulinovo hill, the Rudač hill, the Čogrljevo lake and the Mačijansko lake.
Some of disadventages of the country life are: no sea, less shops, no museum, no cinemas, too many
coffee shops, almost no monuments, no skyscrapers, no buses (bad connection between places in
Gorski kotar)...
I would like to live in the city and maybe some day in the future I will because of the many
opportunities it has to offer.

Mobile phones at schoolsyes or no?
At our school we can have mobile phones, but they have to be turned off. I don't think that they have to
be turned off; in my opinion it's best to turn the sound and the vibration off. I think that we can use
mobile phones during school breaks if we don't interupt other pupils. One of the best reasons to have a
mobile phone at school is that, if you live far from school and if something happens, you can
immediately call your parents. The bad thing about mobile phones at school is that some use mobiles
during the lessons and they play games on them or go on their Facebook profile. That is not good
because when there's an exam, they won't do anything, but interupt other pupils and for that they
deserve to be punished in some of following ways: a
bad mark (F), to be asked to leave a
classroom...They will probably talk to the principal afterwards and their parents will have to come to
school. And it's all because they can't do without a mobile in the classroom. And that is a huge
problem. If you want to use the mobile, use it on a break and be careful that a teacher doesn't see you.
The best solution is to use mobiles at school only when it's neccessary.
I am for mobiles at school but not during lessons.

City life vs country lifeadventages and disadventages
I live in Moravice. Moravice are in the country. My friend lives in Rijeka. Rijeka is a big city in a
coastal area. In Moravice there are block of flats, three shops, a park, a primary and a secondary
school, two lakes - the Čogrljevo lake and the Mačijansko lake. The river Dobra flows through
Moravice. When I visit my friend in Rijeka I can see the Rječina river. In Rijeka there are block of
flats, many scyscrapers, shops, the theatre HNK 'Ivan pl. Zajc'. I usually come to Rijeka to hit the
shops. In Moravice there is also Ledena jama, a lot of forest and fields.
The advantages of the country life are: the fresh air, people have farms on which they grow animals, a
beautiful forest, familiarity among local inhabitants.
The advantages of the city life such as Rijeka are: theatre HNK 'Ivan pl. Zajc', more educational
opportunities, lower prices, cinemas, malls...
The disadvantages of the country life are that there aren't many shops, any cinemas and theatres, less
educational opportunities, less places to go out with your friends.
The disadvantages of a city life are that there's no fresh air and people lead a very busy life which
makes them strangers to each other.
I'm going to live in a city because it offers many more opportunities than a village. I could go to the
theatre. My friends and I can watch the latest film in the multiplex cinema. I like the city because it's
so spacious...anf therefore beautiful.
At least for me it is.

Love
Let the world spin
Love is something magical between two people. Love can be shown in a visible way but what one
feels is inside, hidden from the world. The memory of the first time falling in love lasts forever.
Singers like to sing of love like it's a thing described as simply as a rainbow, or bird's song. But it's not.
It's more complicated than that.
In the past people had to get married if they were in love.Today one can show love without a promise
of marriage.
People who have lost their loved ones still feel love for them in their hearts. That's also love for me.
Love is an ever-present emotion that makes the world spin.

The circle of love
Love is something that has existed from the beginning of time. It cannot disappear since there will
always be someone who will fall in love and someone to fall in love with. Sometimes it's difficult to
underestand that very complicated emotion but without it life wouldn't be worth living.
People celebrate love on Saint Valentine's Day which is on 14th February. People usually send each
other love letters, Valentine's cards, chocolate hearts, flowers, and many more.
Love is the most important emotion for me.

There's no life without love
Love is the most beautiful thing that can happen to one human being. I think it's our responsibility to
love in order to be loved. When we are in love with someone and that love is mutual, that is the most
beautiful feeling one can experience. When we are in love it seems like problems have a way of
solving themselves. When we are in love, we don't think, we just feel. Love binds understanding, hope,
caring for someone, happiness and friendship. The real meaning of life these days is
devaluated.Young people don't care for all the things they should. Some even consider love to be
something stupid, nothing like the best and the most beautiful feeling in someone's life.
A love of a mother and a love of a family are the most important emotions in the life of every human
being. They make us feel safe and protected. They also keep you away from bad things and show you
the right path. Love helps you recognize the difference between the good and the bad. It helps you
grow up emotionally and enables you to give all of your love to your children and later on, your
grandchildren.
The fact is we cannot live without love.
Dario Konjević, 8th class, Moravice
Her name means love
For me, without love there is no life. I am in love with a girl whose name is Vedrana. She has got
beautiful long dark hair and dark eyes. She is very attractive to me. I have to repeat myself but... there
is no life without her for me. She is the reason why I even exist. She represents something most
wonderful in my world. She is like an oasis in the middle of a desert. For this year's Valentine's Day I
bought her a big bouquet of flowers and she liked it. She blew me a kiss and I was happy till the end of
the day.
For me, Vedrana is a synonym for love!

Searching for true love
Love is something special. When we are in love we are very happy. Love is the most beautiful feeling
in the world.
When two people are in love they can't stop thinking about each other and they simply adore each
other. Love is the most important emotion that can shake the ground on which we walk. Sometimes
friendship turns into real love because friends spend most of their time together, so they feel love and
respect for each other from the beginning. Their love becomes stronger each day.
Love is an emotion we need to cherish. We need to love and never stop looking for true love...at least
not until we find it.

In honour of love
Love is one of the most beautiful feelings in the world. That special feeling is at the same time the
same as well as different for different people.
In the animal world, it is a primitive feeling - more primitive than in our world; for every animal, love
is a different and special kind of feeling.
In our world, love of each and every person is special. The duration of that feeling differs as well as
the intensity of it. Historically speaking, love was a trigger for many wars as well as it inspired lots of
poets and caused a death or two.
If I were to talk about my love life, I'd have to say that there were some beautiful as well as some bad
things. Still the most important is that the feeling of love for love iteself conqueres everything.
There are different kinds of love: we can love our parents, grandparents, friends, pets,...
Many films were made on the topic of love. Many songs sing of love. Many poems were written in
honour of love.
Love is simply a special kind of feeling difficult to be described in few words .

The notion of love
For me, love is something special, something magical. I'm not in love but when I fall in love I want
that love to be sweet, unique and special in its own way. I'll remember my first love as long as I live
and I hope that it will remain a beautiful and unforgettable memory.
Singers sing about love and writers write about it. Everything evolves around it.
The best known novel about love is William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
February 14 is the day reserved for love because on that day people in love buy each other flowers,
stuffed animals, chocolate...This day is called Saint Valentine's Day.
Life would be boring without love. I hope that one day I will fall in love with the happy ending. I think
that every human needs some love because it is something special and if you have never been in love
then you should know that you have missed a lot.

My teacher is Davorka Nekić. She's the best. She has got beautiful hair and eyes. She likes to work at
school and she loves all her pupils very much. She wears a blue and red superhero uniform with white
triangles on the corners of it. She has got yellow and purple boots and a yellow and green cap.
She can take us wherever we want to go – on the top of any mountain, on the bottom of any sea or
ocean, over the fields and meadows...She can make us happy even when we're sad...She can colour
anything with any colour we want...She's like a rainbow magician!
I like my superhero teacher very much!

My English teacher is Davorka Nekic. She's got blond hair with some red locks. She always dresses
nicely and seems to follow fashion trends. She is very nice and a good teacher, too. She has a
superpower when it comes down to the English language; she's a real magician then. When we learn
the grammar, she constantly tells us what we need to know...not too much, not too little. When I come
home, her words are stuck in my mind. I can't stop repeating her words in my head; she's like a cute
little ghost who is teasing me. Before an exam she calms us a bit – she gives us a tasty pink powder
tranquilizer, so we feel more confident and more relaxed. In her classroom there's a flying carpet that
she made herself using her magic. She's good with magic, you know. On that carpet my classmates and
I travel to the dreamland.

The School Bell
My English teacher's name is Davorka Nekić. She has got blue eyes and short blond hair with red
locks. She always dresses nicely like a princess. She has got a power when she smiles – it's like a
thousand bright stars sparkling! She's great! And funny, too! When you do not know something, she
helps you and it's like she has a power to enter your mind and all that you know at that moment. She is
the best teacher in the world and she's very beautiful and smart. In her classroom there is a variety of
paper models of famous landmarks such as Big Ben, the Buckingham Place and St. Paul's Cathedral
that are magical and have power of their own. Before a test we always calm her down by giving her a
warm magical potion of hot chocolate.
