Plant sale proceeds support water quality, local agricultural and conservation programs Local Work, Statewide Progress The Caledonia County Conservation District is a local government organization housed at the USDA Service Center in St. Johnsbury. The Conservation District writes and coordinates grants for water quality projects serving landowners and municipalities in 17 towns in Caledonia County. Projects are determined by documented local water quality needs, as well as regional and statewide priorities. As the Conservation District works locally to coordinate and implement projects, the effect of the work reaches beyond Caledonia County by helping to restore clean water and healthy habitat to the Connecticut River and Lake Champlain Basins. 2015-2016 was a big year for the Conservation District, as our work expanded in many sectors, including Agricultural Water Quality, Watershed Restoration, Stormwater Remediation, Road and Infrastructure Improvement, as well as Outreach and Education.
