Description
The inn is probably eighteenth century; it is indicated on the enclosure award map
(1807). It was extended c.1999. It is two storeys tall, faced in roughcast render.
There is a gabled concrete tile roof with cogged eaves and two painted brick gable
stacks. On the first floor there are three tall window openings. On the ground floor
there are irregularly spaced openings.
Buildings that predate the reign of Queen Victoria are considered to have qualities
of age that justify their inclusion on the Local List. The building is unlikely to date to
before c.1700 (the "brick threshold").

Description
This property was probably built in the seventeenth century. It is two storeys tall and
faced in modern render. There is a gabled plain tile roof with a central brick ridge
stack. The windows are two-light casements. To the left there is a large gabled
porch. A first floor rear extension was erected c.2001.

Description
Probably a farmhouse; the building is indicated on the enclosure award map (1807).
Used as a community centre since 1901. Rear extension designed by Harry
Fletcher for Charles Booth (his cousin); built 1911.
The farmhouse is faced in smooth render beneath a gabled plain tile roof. There is a
central entrance door flanked by three-light windows with hood moulds. The rear
extension is faced in render with red brick buttresses beneath a plain tile roof.

Description
A national school, dated 1844. Extension of c.1872 designed by Millican & Smith of
Leicester. Extended forward in the late nineteenth century. The school is faced in
smooth render beneath gabled concrete tile roofs. The original porch is faced in
granite rubble. It contains a door opening with a four-centred head beneath a brick
hood mould.
Schools built in the period c.1840-1870 are generally considered suitable for listing,
provided that they are well preserved and of good architectural quality. Millican &
Smith were responsible for several listed buildings including national schools at
Birstall, Enderby and Whitwick.

A house, built in the mid eighteenth century. A modern datestone says '1739'. Used
as a post office in the mid twentieth century. The house is two and a half storeys tall.
It is faced in roughcast render. There is a gabled graduated slate roof with two brick
gable stacks. There is a central plank door flanked by dummy sashes with glazing
bars. There are two similar windows above.

The building is one and a half storeys tall. The front (eaves) elevation is faced in

Description
Farm buildings including a threshing barn, built before c.1700 (the 'brick threshold').
Altered to form a dwelling c.1980. The threshing barn is two storeys tall. It is faced in
red brick on a rubble stone plinth, beneath a gabled plain tile roof. Remains of a
timber box frame including four posts; irregular fenestration. The left gable is faced
in coursed dressed stone and retains four slit breathers. To the right, a single storey
farm building.
