Welcome to The Great Gatsby Ball, a black-tie
night of glamour and glitz. This is the 10th
Anniversary of the Barnes Charity Ball and
it’s great to celebrate in such style. Many
thanks to the numerous people who have
helped create this sparkling event and
donated so much time and money to make it
happen, especially the organising committee.

THE CHARITIES
The Barnes Charity Ball raises much-needed
funds for local, international and church
charities.
To pledge donations to go to your favoured
charities, either fill in the Pledge cards on
your table or go to the Pledges page on the
Auction Tablets.
Pledge Cards will be
collected after the auction and you will be
contacted straight after the Ball for your
cheque or bank transfer.
UNDER TREE SCHOOLS in South
Sudan is building a future for
girls who otherwise would get no
education,
helping
lift
communities out of subsistence
in this new country. Donations from the
Barnes Charity Ball over the last few years
have helped Under Tree Schools to build
classrooms, a kitchen and dining hall, solar
panels for internet access and a farm for
training, all of which need further equipping.
We are also now supporting bursaries for
girls so that they can go on to secondary
education and realise their potential at a cost
of £1000 per year for each girl.

THE CASTELNAU COMMUNITY
CENTRE helps to promote a
vibrant, self-sustaining community
on the Castelnau area of North Barnes. With
a programme of community development
projects designed to meet the needs of its
local residents of all ages from a playgroup
through after-school clubs to adult training
with 400 people a week using the Centre.

GLASS DOOR HOMELESS
CHARITY relieves poverty
among
the
street
homeless in West London by providing
accommodation, advice and support. Each
winter in Barnes, a dedicated team of
volunteers provides a night shelter at the
Methodist Church for homeless people who
come to seek warm, nourishing food and
somewhere to sleep for the night.

OSO Arts Centre is a multifunctional arts space for the
Barnes community promoting
the importance of art, music,
literature and drama. Ball donations will be
used for new flexible seating to create a
state-of-the-art audience environment.

in Richmond Borough and brings accessible
events to people of all age groups

St Mary’s Barnes dates from the
1100s and was rebuilt following a
major fire in 1978 blending the
medieval with the contemporary.
St Mary’s is a vibrant church
community reaching out to many people,
young and old alike and is used for many
community events. The Friends of St Mary’s
Barnes raise funds for its upkeep and most
recently have repaved the passageway
between the church and Kitson Hall which
you are using tonight.

photo as you arrive and then at your tables
throughout the evening.

tonight will be available to view and
download for free on his website from

go to our charities. Look out for an email
