STOCK MARKET CHALLENGE
The Stock Market Challenge is an exciting, fast-paced competition, which
is centered on a software system that simulates a 60-day cycle of the
stock market and its function of buying, selling, analysis and risk. Every
60 seconds represents a day of trading. The goal of each team (3-4
players) is to accumulate the highest possible net worth in their investment
portfolio at the close of trading. The event is an evening of fun and
excitement, where the stakes are high and the competition is fierce.

To start the game, teams are given a list and description of 26 fictitious
stocks and $500,000 trading dollars to invest in their desired portfolio.
Teams may track the performance of their portfolios and standings from
information provided on two big screens. Throughout the event, helpful
information will be available in the form of news releases, hot stock tips
and portfolio printouts. How well teams interpret this information is
imperative to their success.
Committee Members:
Teams make trades through the floor traders: each floor trader is equipped
with a hand-held computer that inputs the teams’ order instantly, making
each transaction occur in real time on the screen.
