May 4th is Fireman Appreciation Day
Firefighters’ Day celebrates the dedication, heroism and importance of firefighters from all
over the world. Many firefighters are volunteers, and many lose their lives in the course of
duty.
Show your support by wearing blue and red ribbons (tied together, symbolizing the combination of fire and water) and help raise to awareness and support for your local firefighting operation.

Scalloped Potatoes, Bay Shrimp Salad and more….Be sure to invite your family,

May 12th BLUE MAD HATTERS—Out to Lunch Bunch
Kind of like the Red Hats Society, but the BLUE MAD HATTERS
is a special social gathering of the women of Deer Park. Established
here at Deer Park on May 12, 2015 for women of any age to spend quality time with one
another and enjoy time away from home. Please let the office know by Friday, May 8th if
you would like to join Tess and other residents for a day out to lunch. Restaurant will be
announced later. Everyone pays for their own lunch. Don’t forget to wear your BLUE HAT.
May 16th Armed Forces Day—Special Luncheon
Welcome Novato High School Color Guard on Saturday , May 16th at 12:00 in the dining
room. They will perform their march and join us for lunch.
May 4th—Star Wars Day is an unofficial secular holiday in May which celebrates the Star
Wars franchise created by George Lucas.
It is considered a holiday by Star Wars fans to celebrate the franchise's films series, books,
and culture. The date was chosen for the easy pun on the catchphrase "May the Force be with
you"—"May the fourth be with you".
