Yachting Victoria 7 Development Squad The YVDS The Yachting Victoria Development Squad (YVDS) boasts Glenn Ashby – multiple A Class World Champion, Olympic silver medallist and Americas Cup sailor as its patron. • Aims to provide support, encouragement and opportunities for aspiring Victorian youth sailors. • Works with ISAF recognised Youth Class Associations in Victoria to provide the best possible coaching programs and opportunities. • Joins forces with two International and one National Junior Class Association to do the same. • Acts as an underpinning and feeder program for the successful VIS sailing program. • Is supported by a criteria based structure with regards to program inclusion and athlete criteria; go to www.sailingpathways.com.au for details. • Supports members, so as to take part in their Class Association Coaching program, as well as to take part in several off –water and camp experiences. • Aims to develop Victorian sailors for National and International success. • Combines with several Victorian clubs to offer enhanced sailing opportunities for aspiring Victorians. 3.
