24 degree of Sagittarius: ‘A bluebird standing at the door of the house’ In both the New and the Old Worlds the bluebird is a symbol of good tidings. In many American Indian traditions, for instance, this beautiful bird is a solar symbol, said to announce the arrival of the sun every day before dawn. They considered the bluebird the ‘son of the sun’ and worshipped him as a symbol of happiness and hope. In Europe too and all the way to Russia rare birds with blue plumage were considered helpers of human kind. In traditional fairy tales the bluebird is often a prince who was transformed into a bird by magic, in this form helping the hero or heroine to overcome otherwise impossible hurdles. So this little bird here seems to say: ‘wake up, day will be soon breaking through your door. I bring to your home the light and warmth which are gifts of the sun, to restore your hope and vitality every day and make you happy’.
