Besides exhilarating

hikes which last from easy
3 hrs to a full day walking
around the settlements
near Borderlands. The
hike to Borderlands falls, a
140 m waterfall takes you
through the historical
village of Gati following an
ancient trail where the
famous Nepali artist
Araniko walked during the
17th century. Before the
construction of the
national highway, this trail
was used as the trading
borderlands fall route between Nepal and
Tibet. The long-standing custom office still remains as a relic
from the past. The village is a colorful mosaic of Sherpa, Tamang
and Newars living in religious harmony.
Realizing the importance of responsible business practices,
Borderlands has endeavored in its own small way, to make a
difference in the lives of the people of local communities.
Borderlands Adventure Resort operates as a 'plastic free' zone
discouraging the use of plastic bags, playing a vital role in the
preservation of the local forest area. In addition, minimizing
negative impact to the local flora and fauna, encouraging the use
of biodegradable products and raising environmental awareness
is another area where Borderlands leads by setting example for
others to follow. Providing employment opportunity to the local
people is yet another effort which can be proven from the fact
that 90 percent of the resort staffs are local people.

the theme of ‘sustainable education for better living'. School
partnerships, school community forest projects, introduction
to organic farming and collaborating with local clubs and
school committee are the approaches that we have taken in
order to develop the skills of the local people leading to a
more sustainable development. Besides this, Borderlands has
also been supporting 3 local schools in the nearby village of
Gati. Among these, some schools are running into the 10th
year of Borderlands support and collaboration.

As a continued part of its CSR, Borderlands in conjunction with
Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT) organizes the annual river
festival on the Bhote Koshi and lobbies for its preservation. NRCT
has been aggressively involved in the conservation of the
Himalayan river system, preserving the cultural heritage and
developing an environmentally responsible tourism industry.

Borderlands Eco Adventure Resort is a host to a multitude of

Borderlands introduced this sport in Nepal in 1997, at a time
when the term 'canyoning' was not even heard of in this part of
