Hello my name is veronica
and I am 47 years old
And this is me in 2008
I live at home with my mum
and sisters .We do lots of
things and I am a very well
travelled person
I also enjoy a bit of
photographic modelling
I am also an excellent Student
Here are some
of my acievements
I always love parties
especially the cake
Suppose I’d better go and
make another one then!!
In June 2008 I suffered a stroke and
I was admitted to the young
disablement unit at the Leicester
General Hospital where I stayed
until January 2009A total of 7months.
This was a very worring time for my
family
I have moderate learning disabilities
and prior to having a stroke I attended
Fosse Day Centre in the workout
department, where I helped with jobs
like placing flyers into magazines and
packing components into plastic bags
This is me and Laurie one of the staff that I used to
work with at workout

I am a very happy young
lady who enjoys

Since my stroke I now have a joint
package of care with Hastings
Road Day Centre and New
Horizons Agency
I attend Hastings Road Monday,
Wednesday and Friday all day
on a 1-1 basis
In the morning I am supported by the satff
at Hastings Road
In the afternoon by staff from New Horizans
For half an hour I am
supported by both providers
I have a very busy
timetable with varied
activities
The priority of the day is my
physio program to enable me
to regain my skills and
capabilities and to maintain my
physical and mental health and
promote my personal dignity

support me for this

Imelda from New Horizons
supports me in the afternoon to
help me with my physio and

tasks until 7pm when I am ready to
retire after a hard days work
