INCOMAT welcomes participation of scientists/engineers and institutions active in the fields of biomaterials for medical applications who are located either in Europe or in the Western Balkan Countries and Newly Independent States Specific Support Action (SSA) INCOMAT Basic Concept Overall Objectives One of the main tasks of INCOMAT is to identify where biomedical research could make a significant impact on the quality of life of all EUROPEAN citizens including those of WBC and NIS. In this context, the most important objective of INCOMAT is to identify the scientific areas where ‘cutting-edge” developments could provide the supportive technology platform for innovative implants for hard tissue applications The structure of INCOMAT enables the transfer of scientific knowledge from Europe to the Western Balkan Countries and Newly Independent States. Concentrated research efforts by the Teams of Excellence will explore new concepts and support the technological-reference basis of the EU Environmental Technologies Action Plan. • • • • The homepage of INCOMAT can be found at: to obtain a comprehensive evaluation of the key resources in biomaterials research and industry in the WBC and NIS to act as an international platform for the exchange of good laboratory practices and technological expertise to identify cooperation opportunities for joint activities and future R&D projectsthat address the special needs of WBC and NIS to establish scientific and technological exchange activities like networking, meetings, workshops and biomaterial conferences www.ssa-incomat.com INCOMATwelcomes participation of scientists/engineers and institutions active in the fields of biomaterials for medical applications who are located either in Europe of in theWestern Balkan Countries and Newly Independent States Teams of Excellence The biomedical aspects associated with the INCOMAT project cover a broad spectrum of subjects in the field of biomaterials for hard tissue applications. The consortium is composed of Four Teams of Excellence, each one chaired by a team leader.
