He said: “Of course it is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn from the top performing independent school in the country. “We have demonstrated that we have children of outstanding academic ability Star of the Week Tyreese Remy-Henderson Tyreese is a student at Eastlea Community School, Canning Town. He joined Eastlea’s Youth Dance Company in Year 7 having never previously danced before. Through hard work and commitment Tyreese went on to represent the school in local dance shows and competitions winning Eastlea’s Dancer of the Year in 2012/2013. In 2012, Tyreese successfully auditioned for the awardwinning, critically acclaimed ZooNation Dance Company. He has shown an enormous amount of commitment and determination in his dance training all the time juggling school work with regular performances in central London (Royal Albert Hall, Sadlers Wells and The Place). Tyreese spent the summer performing every night at the South Bank Centre in ZooNation’s production Groove on Down the Road, which was such a success they have been invited back to perform for six weeks this summer. The show received outstanding reviews: ‘‘One of the UK’s HOTTEST dance companies…’’ (The Independent), ‘‘Highly skilled and hugely enjoyable’’ (The Telegraph). Tyreese is also a great role model to other students. Assistant principal Nazanin Shirani said: “Tyreese goes the extra mile to share his knowledge and passion of dance with others and encourages other students to follow their dreams and never give up. He is an excellent example of what can be achieved if you put in the hard work; we are extremely proud of him and look forward to watching his dance career blossom.” Interesting Fact Lions are the second largest big cat species in the world behind tigers. A: Two, because all the rest are hooves and paws. join in the fun Community secondary pupil wins £76,000 scholarship Pupils at a school in Forest Gate will be visited by the housemaster of a prestigious independent school where one of their classmates won a two-year £76,000 scholarship. Irfan Badshah, 15, will study politics, history, English and philosophy at Winchester College in Hampshire from September.
