Khan Academy is a non-profit organization on a mission: to change education for the better by providing a free,
world-class education for anyone, anywhere. Here’s what Khan Academy has done so far:
• Khan Academy is currently being used in over 20,000 classrooms all over the world
• Khan Academy educational videos have been viewed by over 166 million people to date
• Over 600 million Khan Academy math problems have been solved to date
Khan Academy, ParenTeen Quest and GATE are proud to present Maureen Suhendra.
Maureen manages School Implementations for Khan Academy, where she works with teachers and students to
redefine what it means to be a successful learner. Don't miss this highly informative night as Maureen discusses:
- How Students can utilize Khan Academy as a resource in High School
- How Parents and Educators can reinforce the use of this resource
- How Khan Academy represents a change in the education paradigm
BIS Principal Pam Scott and Math Department head and teacher Michelle Mandeville will also be part of the panel
discussion following the presentation. BIS currently uses Khan Academy to supplement their math curriculum.

ParenTeen Quest (PTQ) is a consortium of PTO board members from all high schools in the San Mateo Union High School
District. After the success of our district-wide presentation of "The Race to Nowhere" in 2011, PTQ proudly embarked upon
this ongoing program of providing quality parent education to all members of our high school district community.
