What is nylon?
Nylon is a class of synthetic material that can be moulded.

The nylon fibres (filaments) which are produced are much finer than most natural fibres.
They have a much higher tensile strength than natural fibres.

it is strong (high tensile strength) and it does not break easily. Thus a parachute is light
