CHS Students Serve People In Need
Thanks to the hard work and leadership of seniors, the Chaska High Food Shelf/ Student
Resource Center has received well over $1,500 worth of non-perishable food donations,
toiletries, and even some school supplies. Students in need have already accessed this
great resource.
The Hawk Haul is a student resource center that has free food,
toiletries, and even some clothing for students and their families
who are in need. Many times if a family-in-need receives a food
donation that then allows them to use their money for other
important necessities. One of the best things about the Hawk Haul
Student Resource Center is that it is created by students, stocked
by students, and maintained by students! Many thanks to Kayla
Emerson and Jessica Hardy for starting the Hawk Haul with the
aid of DECA and Student Council.
If you are interested in donating to the Hawk Haul, please contact Reese Hendricks,
with the Chaska High School at 952.556.7171
We hope the Hawk Haul will become a lasting Chaska tradition of students supporting
students! Soar Hawks!

Around the Clock
- Lt. Ben Anderson
Chaska Officers issued 21 citations and 35
warnings during this reporting period.
There were 194 calls for service
DWI:
A male driver crashed his vehicle into a semi tanker truck
in the area of Hwy 41 and Engler Blvd. The male quickly
drove his vehicle from the scene in an attempt to flee. He
then drove off the roadway and got stuck in the deep snow
near Bavaria Road and Engler Blvd. Police located the
male inside his vehicle and took him into custody. He was
intoxicated and a breath test indicated a .11 BAC. The
th
male was charged with 4 degree DWI and failing to stop
at the scene of an accident.
Notable:
Jolly Good Show…
A concerned homeowner called police to
report suspicious footprints in his
backyard. The footprints in the snow
spelled out the word “ARSENAL” in
approximately ten foot letters from top to
bottom, and appeared to have been
made from an adult-sized shoe/boot.
The homeowner had no idea who was responsible or what
the word was in reference to. The officer performed a
google search on the word and learned that “Arsenal” is a
top-ranked English Football Club. The officer informed the
homeowner, who then contacted and confirmed his
neighbor is a huge Arsenal fan, who was obviously excited
over the recent success of the team.

An officer observed several moving violations on a vehicle
on County Road 61 near Creek Road. The vehicle then left
the roadway due to driving at a high rate of speed and
crashed into power pole guy wires. The male driver was
intoxicated and was not injured. He was taken into custody
and charged with DWI and failing to yield right of way to an
emergency vehicle.
Disturbances:
A female driver was charged with
failing to stop for a school bus stop
arm in the area of Bluff Pass South
and Overlook Drive. The offense is
a gross misdemeanor as children
were attempting to cross the street
as the violation occurred.
Police received a report of two intoxicated males causing a
disturbance inside of a downtown restaurant. Officers
arrived and located the two males in a parking lot. One
male was in possession of brass knuckles, marijuana and
drug paraphernalia. He was charged for possession of
those items. The other male was under the influence of an
unknown substance and was released to the custody of a
family member.
