TODAY: May 28-2
God wants us to GROW in our faith! But that doesn’t happen without some effort
on our part. Just as growing up requires that you eat, drink, and sleep; growing in
our faith takes action too. This week we learned how to grow in our faith. See if
you remember and fill in the blanks.

BIBLE STORY SUMMARY
Spring and summer is an amazing time to see things grow. Seeds become full grown plants. Small plants grow into delicious fruit, vegetables,
or beautiful flowers. God designed these plants to grow.
When we become a part of God’s family, we are much like those small
seeds that need to be watered, fertilized, and given light to grow. Our
verse this week is “Let your roots grow down into Him and let your lives be
built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were
taught.” (Colossians 2:7a)
This week we will focus on how to grow…how to be sure our roots go
deep and draw nourishment from Jesus. He has given us the instructions
on how to do this through going to church, reading our Bibles, obeying
God and worship and prayer. As we take care of our life in Jesus, we will
grow in amazing ways! So let’s water, fertilize, and spend time with the
Son! And all will see the beauty of Christ in us.

The verses from today remind us of the importance of going to church. Church is
important to God. He calls it “His house”. God knew we would need each other
to learn together from the Bible and encourage one other. Going to church is
one way to help you grow up God’s way!
Ask God to help your family make Church a priority.

Day 2
Have you ever had a conversation with one of your toys? Sounds silly
doesn’t it? We all know that toys aren’t alive. But there is one book that is
alive! What book is it? ___________________________
This verse tells us that God has breathed life into the Bible! It is alive and
active and when we spend time in the Bible, it changes us. Look at the
verse and write down what the Bible does.
It is useful for ____________________ us what is true.
It is useful for _____________________ our mistakes.
It is useful for making our _____________ whole again.
It is useful for ___________________ us to do what is right!
Wow, God’s Word, the Bible is His letter to us. And the more time we spend
reading that letter, the more we will GROW in our faith!
CHALLENGE: Pick a time and place that you will spend in the Bible. Read it
like it is God’s letter to you, because it is! He loves you and wants to talk to
you. You just need take time to listen.
Thank God for the Bible.

Parent News:
Love requires action. God says we show our love for Him by obeying Him. It
doesn’t do any good to read the Bible, but not live it out.

Day 4
Today’s verse says to pray continually. As frequently as, say, breathing.
That means praying as you brush your teeth. Praying before, during, and
after a test. Praying for your teammates—and the other team—as you’re
playing soccer. Praying out loud and in public. Praying silently and in
private. It means talking to God without stopping because you want to
know Him better.
We will be promoting your Elementary kids into their new
classroom NEXT WEEK! They should check in to the grade that
they will be attending in the Fall.
Please be sure that their tags reflect their correct grade for next year!
VBS 2016
God is always there and He is always listening. Get into a habit of talking
to Him as your closest friend, and you will definitely GROW in your faith!
Get 3 sticky notes and write the word “PRAY” on each of them. Stick
them on 3 different places to remind you to talk to God. (It could be on
your mirror, so you talk to God when you are brushing your teeth. It
could be on your bed, so you talk to God when you go to bed.)
