There is a lack of engagement from t he committee member.
Attendance has been poor this year.
We need to f igure out our identity.
Shou ld the committee exist next year?
Stakeholders need to develop ideas about what is going on in their commun ities.
Committee needs a reality check in the September meeting, we need to examine the 2011
workplan - figure out what we have accomplished, and what we should accomplish
How can SCOP help the individual members of our committee?
We need a champion from the City of Oshawa on the committee, perhaps a council member.
DRPS needs to be a stronger roll on the committee. Helen to ask Laura if BIAwill be sending someone back tothe committee .

How do we reach out to students t o inform them about safety?
Schools wi ll be having a safety week in September.
We need t o see if UOIT/Trent have a media contact (school newspa per).
SCOP could get permission from school board to send a monthly safety newsletter out with
t he students.
Jeannine to bring in samples of previous newsletters.
This yea rs' newsletter safety theme is "Digital Citizenship - Are you safe onli ne?".
The newsletter could ask students/pa rents for feedback.
