2 large squares
Other:
Paper clay: light yellow,
pink
Quick-drying adhesive
Bead Colors:
Butterscotch - 32
Pastel Yellow - 3

Instructions
1. For the first pattern on page 2, connect both large squares and position them
vertically on your work surface. Place your beads on the pegboards as shown.
If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it.
2. Ask an adult to fuse your designs—see below for further instructions.
3. Assembly: see page 5.
Fusing Instructions—Only Adults Iron
1. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface.
2. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the
pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. Do not press
down with the iron. As the beads begin to fuse, you will see circles of the
beads start to show through the paper. When ironed properly, the beads
will still have an open center. Let the design cool.
3. Remove the paper and bead design from the peg board. Flip the design
over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat step two. Let cool completely.
NOTE: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are
fusing. Depending on the size of the project, additional heating time may be required. DO NOT OVER-IRON the beads as it will
make the centers of the beads close and can make the assembly you do with your project more challenging.

ASSEMBLY
1
Hold the head/neck of your snake vertically with the
head facing away from you so you are looking
down on the head. This top view is what is
B
represented in the diagrom at the bottom.
See how the slots are
labeled on the
pattern on page 2.
Insert the A pieces on
either side of the
head through the
vertical slot A closest
to the front of the
head. The two A
pieces will interlock.
Repeat for the B
pieces in the two B
slots, and the C
pieces in the four C
slots.

2
Align the Coil Top with the Coil base, then
insert the snake’s head/neck piece into the
slot to a depth of two beads. This will hold
the head erect.
3
Insert the tail into the other slot in the base.
Use light yellow paper clay to create 2
spheres approximately 1/2" in diameter.
Push a black bead halfway into the center
of each of the spheres.
For the tongue, create a long piece with
pink paper clay and make it flat. Model it
to the shape shown below with the forked
end. Next, shape the length up and down
as shown at bottom. Let dry.
4
After the clay is dry, glue the eyes and
tongue into position as shown. Let the
glue dry completely.
