Our team experienced strategic growth: we now have a dedicated online investigations unit and have expanded our team to include members in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. UL Global Security and Brand Protection 2016 In support of UL’s leadership in advancing safety while enabling goods to flow in an increasingly borderless world, the Global Security & Brand Protection team was called into action to combat counterfeit UL labeled hoverboards that posed an increasing danger to consumers. As a result, in 2016 our team seized an estimated $1 million (USD) of counterfeit UL labeled hoverboards from the stream of commerce. You can read more about our “Case of the Year” on page 9. In 2016, UL was honored to partner with INTERPOL and the City of London Police to deliver the 10th Annual International IP Crime Conference at London’s historic Guildhall.
