We’ve Teed-off 6th Annual MAD UK Charity Golf Classic 29th September 2009 Foxhills Golf & Country Club “Like all parents, my husband and I just do the best we can, and hold our breath, and hope we’ve set aside enough money to pay for our kids’ therapy.” Valerie Pienaar “When I told my mom that I was the lucky winner of the 2009 MAD UK Golf Day she blushed: “How could you?” she protested, I then showed her how I changed my grip to allow for a slight draw and extra distance off the tee. I cannot share with you her comments, I have just returned from my second session with the therapist. I do however have some heartwarming comments that I would like to share in appreciation of everyone who have helped us to make the 2009 MAD Golf Day very special.” Francois Pienaar Jeremy Thompson, Presenter, Sky News: “Thank you so much for all your hard work in organising another brilliant MAD day. Lynn & I had a great time - enjoyed the golf, meeting new friends and a top evening of entertainment.” One of our Main Sponsors - Investec Asset Management: “Congratulations on a very successful golf day yesterday. I have had only positive feedback from the guys.” Mark Allen, Simple Investments team: “I wanted to thank you for a spectacular golf day on Tuesday. Having played golf since I was extremely young I can honestly say that it was the most enjoyable and best executed golf day that I have attended. I can only imagine the efforts you must have put into the organisation!” The Golf This is our 6th UK Golf Day and our third at the internationally acclaimed championship course Foxhills, a tribute to the professionalism and hospitality they consistently afford to our loyal players and supporters for which we sincerely thank them. The Tournament was hosted with a large field covering both Foxhills courses - the Bernard Hunt Course and Longcross Course. We were blessed with a sunny day and no doubt all enjoyed this year’s glorious weather. An exciting new on-course competition offered at this year’s event was the ‘Beat the Pro’ challenge hosted on both courses with past Ryder Cup golfers Paul Way and Steve Richardson. Annually we have a superb hole-in-one competition and 2009 was no different with the Jaguar XK on offer... lucky for you it is still available for 2010. There were some impressive golf swings on display during the day. View these and more on www.valecotstudio.co.za, click on: ‘Client login’, ‘MAD UK Golf Classic’, password: fox2909. With top-class London West End performers Swing Incognito and excellent South African wines from The Goose Wines (Retief Goosen’s wine) and renowned wine estates La Motte and Rust and Vrede, the evening was set for success. A panel discussion hosted by Jeremy Thomson, SKY news anchor, and panel Richard Hill, Steve Borthwick, Hugo MacNeill and Michael Lynagh, supplied some fascinating insight into rugby while also answering questions from the audience. We were all impressed with the panel’s quality, and for Steve attending with stitches and a bruised eye is a testimony to his character.
