The Matt Street Scholarship Gala Dinner Thursday August 14, 2014 6pm Doltone House “Through your generosity and support, the Matt Street Scholarship will remain in perpetuity” Matt Street 1960-1980 Matthew Lee Street was one of Cranbrook’s most respected, talented and popular students from 1972-77. He had a quiet, ‘easy-going’ nature. He was an exceptionally gifted athlete, yet remained an incredibly modest person with many, many friends. Past Recipients of The Matt Street Scholarship When Matt lost his life in a car accident in July 1980, it was for most of his peers their first experience of such a monumental ‘unfair’ tragedy. In the immediate community there was a very powerful feeling that we should never forget Matt Street. 1983Philip Sinclair Nigel Littlewood Through the dedicated work of many people, including Martin Pitt, Ross Stanford, Philip W Street and Michael Maxwell, a scholarship in Matt’s name was created in 1981. We hope to award this scholarship for many years into the future and in doing so, keep the memory of Matt Street alive. 1982 Ian Williams 1987 Richard Wright 1990 Russel Koskela 1991 Michael Bradley 1999 Tim Dalton 2001 Henry Mowat Entrée Herb rolled lamb back strap, Persian feta, pea, mint and fresh pomegranate San Danielle prosciutto, grapes, saba, buffalo ricotta, rocket and hazelnuts Welcome Mr Philip ‘Hooky’ Street Main Course Porcini rolled ballotine of chicken, eschalot tart tatin, cavalo nero with lemon thyme Slow cooked beef cheeks, creamed potatoes, pickled onions, watercress and crisp eschalot Billy Field Interviews with Andrew Coorey Kate McClymont (Senior Sydney Morning Herald Reporter) Bill Pulver (CEO Australian Rugby Union) Mark Ella (2013 IRB Hall of Fame Inductee) Live Auction 9pm Raffle Draw 9.15pm Post Function Drinks on Level 2 10pm The Street family and Cranbrook School would like to acknowledge the wonderful support for this evening provided by staff at the Cranbrook Foundation, Samuel Smith and Sons, Lion Nathan, Ryan’s Hotel Group, Nick Scali Furniture, Mr Richard Woods, David Paradice, Jim Maxwell and the Australian Rugby Union.
