The Matt Street Scholarship
Gala Dinner

Doltone House
“Through your generosity
and support, the Matt Street
Scholarship will remain in
perpetuity”
Matt Street 1960-1980
Matthew Lee Street was one of Cranbrook’s most
respected, talented and popular students from
1972-77. He had a quiet, ‘easy-going’ nature. He
was an exceptionally gifted athlete, yet remained an
incredibly modest person with many, many friends.
Past Recipients of
The Matt Street
Scholarship
When Matt lost his life in a car accident in July
1980, it was for most of his peers their first
experience of such a monumental ‘unfair’ tragedy.
In the immediate community there was a very
powerful feeling that we should never forget
Matt Street.
1983Philip Sinclair
Nigel Littlewood
Through the dedicated work of many people,
including Martin Pitt, Ross Stanford, Philip W
Street and Michael Maxwell, a scholarship in
Matt’s name was created in 1981.
We hope to award this scholarship for many years
into the future and in doing so, keep the memory
of Matt Street alive.
