PAST PRESIDENTS
FOREWORD
The Florida Artist Group, after twelve years of excellent exhibitions
shown in many important galleries in this country, is happy to present this,
its twelfth collection of paintings, selected by two jurors - John Taylor,
painter, teacher and lecturer, and his wife, Andree Ruellan, also a painter.
John Taylor is a member of the National Academy and is represented in
many of the important museums of the country including the Museum of Modern
Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He has exhibited widely and won
many national awards. He is at present acting as visiting professor of art at
the University of Florida.
Andree Ruellan has also a fine record of achievement. She, too, is represented in many galleries, has exhibited and won national awards .
It is a pleasure to be able to add these two names to our list of distinguished jurors in the past:

Mr. Taylor was also the principal speaker at the Symposium. His paper on
"Painters and Words" was scholarly and stimulating, bringing out a most
interesting discussion.
The Florida Artist Group is again indebted to the Palm Beach Art League
for their hospitality - not only for the privilege of using the Norton Gallery,
but for the luncheon, gallery tours and other courtesies. Especially is Willis
Woods, Director of the Norton Gallery, to be congratulated on the general arrangements and the very fine hanging which was given the exhibition.
