When is the end of sale date for
ScanFlowStore?
The end of sale date for ScanFlowStore is
December 31, 2014. On or after January 1, 2015
Nuance will no longer accept net new orders for
any ScanFlowStore product.
Nuance will continue to sell ScanFlowStore “as is”
and will continue to process orders until December
31, 2014.
Note: Nuance is not extending ScanFlowStore in
the form of new features, new devices or third party
software version support.

What does this mean for current
ScanFlowStore customers?
Current ScanFlowStore customers may continue running
the software without interruption if desired. Nuance
strongly recommends dealers contact key customers and
communicate this timeline immediately to begin planning
upfront purchases and potentially initiate a discussion about
upgrading the customer to eCopy ShareScan.
Nuance will continue to sell ScanFlowStore “as is” and will
continue to process orders until December 31, 2014.
Note: Nuance is not extending ScanFlowStore in the form
of new device or third party software version support.

Why is Nuance announcing the end of sale
of ScanFlowStore?
Nuance acknowledges ShareScan fills the primary
position in the Nuance capture portfolio as a
robust, extensible scanning platform.
Nuance has decided to further consolidate its
capture portfolio and to continue to enhance
ShareScan to meet customer needs. As a result
we are announcing the end of sale of
ScanFlowStore.

When is the end of support date for
ScanFlowStore?
The official end of support date is December 31, 2016.
Customers can continue to purchase annual M&S contracts
for ScanFlowStore until December 31, 2015. After this date
Nuance will no longer accept orders for M&S renewal
contracts.
Support for a particular customer ends when their last M&S
contract expires and they are no longer able to purchase a
renewal.
Note: Nuance is not extending ScanFlowStore in the form of
new features, new devices, or third party software version
support.

Can ScanFlowStore customers continue to
get support after the Dec. 31, 2014 end of
sale date?
Customers can continue to receive bug fix support as long as
they have a valid M&S contract even after the December 31,
2014 end of sale date. Customers can continue to purchase
annual M&S contracts until the December 31, 2015 deadline.
The official end of support date of ScanFlowStore is Dec. 31,
2016. ScanFlowStore support for a particular customer ends
when that customer no longer has a valid M&S agreement and
can no longer purchase additional M&S contracts.

Can customers continue to request trial
versions of ScanFlowStore?
Starting on July 7th the ability to request a
ScanFlowStore trial license will be removed from
www.scanflowstore.com. If trial software is needed
please contact Nuance sales for additional
information.

Is there a deadline for when a customer can
upgrade from ScanFlowStore to ShareScan?
Because a customer must have a valid
maintenance and support contract the upgrade
request must take place before their
ScanFlowStore M&S term expires.
Customers can continue to purchase annual M&S
contracts for ScanFlowStore until December 31,
2015. After this date Nuance will no longer accept
orders for M&S renewal contracts.

What is the program to upgrade from
ScanFlowStore to ShareScan?
•  ScanFlowStore customers with a valid maintenance and support agreement can
request an upgrade to eCopy ShareScan
•  Nuance will fulfill with eCopy ShareScan Office or Suite depending on the
configuration of the customer
•  ePPO licenses are not included as part of the upgrade
•  ePPO licenses may be purchased separately if needed
•  The original maintenance term of the ScanFlowStore licenses will be
carried over to the ShareScan software
•  Once upgraded the customer moves forward and will renew M&S as an
eCopy ShareScan customer
•  Once upgraded the customer will receive support as a ShareScan
customer
•  The customer must register the ShareScan licenses to receive entitlement
•  ScanFlowStore license entitlement ends 30 days after fulfillment of ShareScan
upgrade request
•  The upgrade program is open-ended, however, a customer must have a
valid M&S contract to request the upgrade. Nuance will stop processing
orders for new M&S contract renewals on December 31, 2015

How does a customer request an upgrade
from ScanFlowStore to ShareScan?
Upgrades are requested by
•  e-mailing [email protected]
The upgrade request must include the following
information:
•  End user customer name/contact information
•  All ScanFlowStore licenses that will be upgraded
including any separately purchased connectors or
modules

How is support handled after the upgrade to
ShareScan?
Once a customer upgrades to eCopy ShareScan the
support path for that product should be followed. In the
case of ShareScan the MFP dealer contacts the
appropriate MFP support center and logs a ticket. If
necessary, the MFP support center will then engage
Nuance support for additional troubleshooting and steps
to resolution.

How are dealers trained on eCopy
ShareScan?
Nuance University offers a variety of instructor led and selfpaced sales and technical training options. Self-paced,
computer based training provides an overview on how to
install, license, configure and add devices to eCopy
ShareScan.
For more in-depth technical information Nuance suggests the
two day eCopy ShareScan technical certification course.
Please visit education.nuance.com for additional information.
Nuance strongly recommends participating in training prior to
attempting to upgrade a customer to eCopy ShareScan.
