Dear Parents / Caregivers,
On Wednesday, the 15th of March, your child will travel to Orewa Beach with the
Year 7 and 8’s to participate in stand up paddle boarding and surfing with the SUP
Shed and DK Surf School, both of which are Orewa based companies.
We will be traveling by private motorcar to Orewa Beach, with the children leaving
Wainui School at 8.30am and returning by no later than 3.00pm. Please ensure your
child is at school with plenty of time to spare so they don’t miss their ride.
For the day the children will need the following:
• Morning tea, lunch and a drink
• Togs, rash shirt, and a towel
• Sunhat
• Sun block
• Warm change of clothes
• Wetsuits – these are optional (water temperature is warm at the moment)
The cost for the day will be $25. Please forward this fee to the classroom teacher or
the school office as soon as possible.
Please also sign and return the swimming consent, and if you are keen to join us as
a helper on the day, indicate this on the permission slip. We require at least two
parents per year group.
