Directions to Burning Man from Arizona This is the shortest route we have found. Some Map apps may direct you through California. Unless you have a reason to use that route, we recommend not going through California. If you are towing or in an RV or a cargo truck, speed limits are 55mph for large vehicles and all vehicles towing trailers in California. There are no lower speeds required for towing or large rigs in Arizona or Nevada. This difference can add hours to the trip if you use the California route. Fuel in California is considerably more expensive. In some places it is $1.00 a gallon higher than Arizona or Nevada. From I-10 in Arizona take I-10 through PHX and follow the signs that say I-10 West-Los Angeles. Continue West of Phoenix. Take the Loop 303 exit from I-10 to US-60 (Grand Ave) and Wickenburg. This interchange is now open and no longer has a detour. Take 303 about 15 miles until 303 intersects at Highway 60 to Wickenburg. Pay attention after you go past the Bell Road exit. There is an overpass at US-60 and a dogleg right turn you must take when you get to the US-60/Loop 303 Junction. This is not marked well, with only one small sign just before the junction. Note, gas prices start going up in Wickenburg. There are a few stations that are cheaper before Wickenburg on US-60. At US-60 turn left to Wickenburg. In Wickenburg, you will have a traffic circle with a bypass route for highway US-93 to Wikiup and I-40 to Kingman. The next gas is in Wikiup. The area for ten miles on both ends of Wikiup is always patrolled by the Highway Patrol. They have a zero tolerance for speeders. US-93 intersects I-40 east of Kingman. Take I-40 through Kingman. Pay Attention to the signs on the west end of Kingman. You must exit I-40 again at US-93. There is no longer any need to go through Laughlin Nevada to get to Las Vegas, the bridge at Hoover dam is now open. You will eventually end up in Boulder City, then on to Las Vegas. Traffic in Boulder City is slow going through town. If possible, plan your drive through Las Vegas to avoid the morning and late afternoon rush hour. Follow the signs and go through Las Vegas on I-515 / US-95. Pay attention to where the lanes take you at the Downtown Las Vegas interchange. You need to go to US-95 to Beatty and Tonopah which takes you up the Western edge of Nevada. We recommend either topping off with fuel in Boulder City or waiting until the other side of Las Vegas at Ann or Durango roads. But we try to stop someplace in that area because there is food and gas at the Ann and Durango Road exit. In the past these areas have always been a safe stop. This is the last relatively cheap gas you will find in Nevada. Directions to Burning Man from Arizona 1|P age Directions to Burning Man from Arizona Next stop Beatty Nevada.
