About
The Facebook Platform provides a framework for third parties to create applications that
run within the Facebook environment.
Using our ShopWindow
technology, we have developed
the Wishlist application to put your
products into an interactive
database for Facebook users.
What is the Wishlist
Application?
Wishlist is a fun way for friends to
recommend things to one another
and for individuals to create a list
of things they want.
The system is built on a 'Social
Rewards' basis which means
Facebook users earn pocket
money by using and promoting
the Wishlist application amongst
their friends.
Where does the 'Social'
Reward come from?
Products purchased through
Wishlist links generate a
commission that is split equally
between two parties.
Rewards are generated when
someone clicks on a Wishlist item
and then buys it. After the
purchase is completed the
appropriate Reward is displayed in
the Rewards Box of the friend who
promoted the application and the
friend who 'recommended' the
item.

How is a Reward generated?
To earn a reward someone needs to
click on one of the items in a Wishlist
and buy from the retailer.
Who gets this Reward?
The Reward is split in to two equal
parts. The first part is payable to the
friend who recommended the
application and the second part is
payable to the friend who recommend
the item.
How do users know if they’ve
earned a 'Social' Reward?
On the Wishlist screen is a rewards
box that displays all the rewards
generated through the users Wishlist.
How do users collect Rewards?
'Rewards Payable' can be transferred
directly into a PayPal account by
clicking the 'Pay me via PayPal' icon.
Getting involved with the Wishlist
application
If you have a product feed and
affiliate (ID) 75302 is joined to your
programme, then Facebook users can
already find your products via the
Wishlist application! You should also
consider the following

Add a WishTag to product pages on your site
A WishTag is a button (or text link) that sits alongside a product and can be pressed by
the customer to instantly add the item to their Facebook Wishlist. You can display a
WishTag against one, some or every product on your website. Wish Tags can be added
to any electronic communication such as customer emails.
NOTE: Users without a Wishlist on their Facebook profile will simply begin the application
installation process if they click the WishTag.
This functionality allows our merchants to effectively break into Facebook with a dynamic
and genuinely ‘social’ tool, without the need for any expensive development costs.
A WishTag can be added as a graphical button or a simple text link and can be
customised to fit your web site. Below is an example of how the WishTag will appear on
the Dixons site after intergration.
The image above shows how a WishTag added to the search/product
results page on the Dixons site will appear.
To add a WishTag to your site you need to have a productfeed that is ShopWindow
Enabled (please contact us if you are in any doubt about this). Finally you will need to
use alpha-numeric merchant product IDs and supply this information within your product
feed.
Follow the points below to add a WishTag on to a web page.
1. Choose a WishTag from the options at the end of the document
2. Copy and paste the HTML code and place it in to the page where you would like
the WishTag to display (adding this to a template page will populate all pages
using that template with the WishTag)
3. Hard code your merchant ID in to the link part of the HTML
4. Dynamically add the product ID that the WishTag should be associated with
The code associated with a set of standard WishTag options is given at the end of this
document.

You can add a Wishlist featuring the products of your choice to your Facebook Business
page.
To the left is an example of how
this looks on the Dixons
Facebook page.
Facebook users who click on one
of the products are asked to add
the application and then taken
to the product details page
within the application.
Existing Affiliate Cookies
Tracking cookies are only saved on a uses PC when the user clicks on the ‘visit store’
button. The ‘visit store’ button is located on the ‘Search Results Page’ and the specific
‘Product Details Page’ within the Facebook application.
In all other circumstances affiliate cookies on the users PC remain ACTIVE.

Check your Public details
Make sure that your Public Details are up to date and correct on the Account Settings
page in your merchant administration area.
The public details are a description of your business and do not need contain any
reference to your affiliate
programme.
On the left is an example of how
the public details are displayed.
