Located at Hillarys Boat Harbour, The Breakwater is the perfect
venue for your next sundowner, birthday celebration, hens night
or get-together with friends.
The award winning resort style venue overlooks the Indian
Ocean, and has a relaxed casual atmosphere. We have informal
areas that you can reserve in the Lower Deck bar and upstairs in
Reids Lounge where you can host your function, whilst still
being part of the vibrancy that surrounds you.
For larger or private functions we also have a number of options
available upstairs in the Akoya Suite or Reids Private Lounge.

How many people can be accommodated?
We require a minimum of 15 guests in order for you to reserve a semi-private area.
When can I reserve a semi-private area?
Everyday apart from Sundays
How long can I reserve the area for?
We reserve the area for a maximum of 3 hours, after this time we will remove signage but
of course you can remain in this area and continue to enjoy your visit to The Breakwater.
How do I find my function and is it roped off?
No rope, however a sign with your function name together with reserved signs on tables
will be set up. Please ask for a manager on arrival and they will show you to your area,
and look after you during your function.
What happens if my guests leave early?
We will assess throughout the night if we need to reduce the size of your function area.

What drinks are available?
Our entire selection of drinks and cocktails are available, which are served from the bar.
Can I arrange a bar tab and how does it work?
Sure, please speak to our manager when booking to get this organised and it will be
ready to go when you arrive. You nominate the drinks that you want to be made available
to your guests from our beverage menu. Tab limits and durations can be set up and
extended if required. You will receive funky coloured wristbands for your guests which
will allow them to put drinks on your tab.
Do I need to have a bar tab?
No. Your guests can purchase their own drinks from the bar if this suits you better. Or
you can have a combination of both a tab and individual guest purchases.

What food can I order?
You can pre-order food from the pizza and cocktail platter menu, along with a platter from
our sweet treats range.
Can I specify food service timings?
Sure, just speak to your function manager who will ensure your function will run
smoothly.
If we need more food during the function?
No problem, the Gourmet Café and Pizza menu is available throughout the night if you
require more food and can be ordered at any time during the evening. The Cocktail
Platter Menu is limited and subject to availability, so please see the manager hosting you
Anyone for cake?
Yum! We have a selection of cakes available, including a personalised name plaque.
Alternatively you can supply your own cake for a $30 cake fee. This includes having it
sliced and put onto a platter which our staff will hand out for you.
Do you cater for guests with allergies?
We certainly do. Please ensure to inform the manager at the time of booking of any
guests with dietary requirements. The chef will try and customize the platter options to
meet your dietary needs.

payment & confirmation
What is the minimum spend required to reserve an area?
A minimum spend must be reached in order to reserve an area. This is then redeemed on
our pizza and platter menu located on page 3. Price and size of reserved area is
dependent on the party size of your function please see requirements below:

How do I pay?
A deposit of $250 is required at the time of booking. Payment can be made by credit card
or just come in, say hello and we can take your payment at the venue.
We require your food order and outstanding balance to be finalised 14days prior to your
function, or when the booking is made (if within 14 days).

PARKING
Free parking is available in the sign posted areas in both north side (near bridge) and
south side car parks.
TAXIS
taxi rank is also available near the south side car park. Venue staff will be happy to call
for a taxi to the cab spot for you.

terms and conditions
DISPLAY & SIGNAGE
Nothing is to be nailed, screwed, stapled, taped or fixed to any wall, door, surface, or part of the building.
Management must approve all signage. No blu-tack can be stuck to walls. No confetti or glitter.
LIQUOR LICENSING
Under the Liquor Control Act of Western Australia we have various obligations and reserve the right to refuse
service of alcohol to persons if he/she is deemed to be intoxicated and may do harm to themselves, other
patrons or property, or for any other reason permissible under the act or by law. The law in respect of people
under 18 years of age will be enforced at all times. Approved identification must be provided upon request. It
is an offence to provide false identification.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
18th & 21st Birthday celebrations can be catered for in the Lower Deck Bar only.
JUVENILES AT FUNCTIONS
Juveniles must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times. Juveniles are welcome at the
venue until 8pm, at which time they must leave.
BEVERAGES
No BYO drinks for functions. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased and consumed on the licensed
premises.
DRESS CODE
The Breakwater enforces a dress code. Please refer to our website, thebreakwater.com.au for details.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be stated in writing and received 7 days prior to the function will be fully refunded.
Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the function will be charged in full. Email notice is required to
cancel a
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
A surcharge of 15% of the total food account will be applicable for all functions held on public holidays.

Receipt of payment is considered acceptance of Event Terms & Conditions and Booking Terms & Conditions.
