history of the person si ng next
to you? Who’s missing this morning?
If these ques ons cause you to stop and think – and actually come up with answers, then you may be
feeling like you’re a member of the Family of Rotary, where rela onship bonds are strong, respect runs
deep and apprecia on is true and genuine. It’s good to know that there is such a place where you can
find these quali es, and I wish to bring more into our family.
It’s my job, and the job of every member of Westminster 7:10 to take on the responsibility for membership recruitment. At the same me, it’s all of our responsibility to give the a en on to our current
members to assure they feel valued in our Club and will remain to do the good work that contributes to
the welfare of our local and global communi es.
Every 7:10 Rotary event, mee ng, service project, fund raiser, and every business interac on, is a Membership Ac vity. There is no Membership Commi ee of 4 or 5 that can equal the effort of an en re club
of 44 faithful members. If everyone carried their own weight, invi ng just one friend or business associate to a Wednesday morning mee ng – we would need no further membership promo on. Our generous, dynamic and engaging Club, in all ways, sells itself!
There is benefit all the way around with increased membership in Westminster 7:10 – more fine people come into
our family, more important contribu ons are made in our
community, and more people are rewarded with the deep
sa sfac on that comes from Service Above Self.
Our 7:10 Family of Rotary Member—Dana Wozniak
MEET DANA WOZNIAK. Dana is an 11 year member of the
7:10 Rotary Club, joining us in 2005. He is a five time Paul Harris Fellow. His sponsor is Don VanArsdale.
Dana was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After grade school
he attended high school in Gering, NE. Following that, he
earned two degrees, one from the U of Nebraska, and an
MBA from Cleveland State University. He’s now a Financial
Advisor with Edward Jones, and was on the 7:10 Foundation
Board in 2011-12. He is a Past-Membership chairman. Dana is
married to Denise and they have four beautiful, and very
active children. He also volunteers for a variety of church
committees. Dana’s interests are camping, gardening, and
reading. He also is an avid golfer. His favorites are the Cornhuskers, Jack Nicklaus, Hunt
for Red October, James Herriot, anything chocolate, steak and seafood. Dana’s favorite childhood memory is having donuts with his dad.
Thank you, Dana for being a member of the Family of Rotary in the Westminster 7:10
Rotary Club.

7:10 Bowl-A-Rama Team Gives Back
By Brian Hall
Pictures by Brian Hall
The Westminster 7:10 Rotary Club recently gave back by sponsoring a bowling team to provide support for Bessie’s Hope, an organizaon that is focused on enhancing the lives of nursing home elders. This is done by engaging youth groups, families, individuals, businesses and organiza ons in volunteer programs that cul vate mutually rewarding rela onships between the elders and volunteers of all ages.
The 7:10 Rotary Founda on has provided funds to Bessie’s Hope to help fulfill these goals.
Brian Hall headed up a group of Rotarians and guests and put together a Bowling Team of Tom & Noel Wilson, Blaine Swanson and Brian
Hall. Blane had the High Score for the team with 162 points. There were some individual prizes at the event which included 2 for 1
bowling passes, a bo le of wine, and a Starbucks gi card. Blaine won $18 in a strike contest and Brian won $90 in a 50/50 raffle. The
other Rotary Clubs involved are shown on the back of the t-shirts they each got for playing.
Rotary Club Sponsors included Highland Ranch, Broomfield Crossing, Five Points and Wheatridge. Pictured above is the crack
bowling team of Blaine, Brian, Tom and Noel. Pete Crouse, President of Bessie’s Hope and a member of the Broomfield
Rotary Club gives Brian his prize from the 50/50 raffle. Top right, Blaine comes through with a bo le of wine and a Starbucks
gi card. Well done, team, but only 162 points?

Rotary Heroes
RGHF MEMBER GEORGE Lewis is the
founder and president of Water Team
Interna onal, a Rotary associated NGO
which matches local Rotary clubs to provide safe and healthy drinking water to
the less fortunate members of communi es around the world, literally.
“I think every Rotarian should think
about doing something like this because
it just feels so good. You can do it, just
try. I also think that every Rotarian should go on at least one
humanitarian trip during their life me. Why, because it can become a life changing event.
We want to help every less fortunate person in the world to
have clean drinking water. More than one billion people lack this
most basic commodity. Having safe drinking water helps to liberate people so they can live healthier, fuller, and more producve lives. 6,000 children die every day from water borne diseases. We want to help solve this problem and lessen the suffering.” From: www.historycomment.org
FELLOWSHIP: "THE VISION of a world-wide fellowship
of business and professional men united in the ideal
of service had not yet come; there were experiences
of a different nature yet to be had, but a wonderful
founda on had been laid; he had seen life in some of
its worst as well as in some of its best condi ons. It
was a far cry from the peace of the idealis c home in
the beau ful New England mountains to the turbulence of Whitechapel, London, or to the human maelstrom which burst its bounds on the
occasion of the Haymarket riots in Chicago. Is it any wonder that a
young man of impressionable mind who had found so much of good in
the midst of evil, who had found so much friendliness in places which
might have been barren, who had such reason for faith and confidence in business men, was recep ve to the idea of a fellowship of
business and professional men? Or that once having realized it he was
eager to send it out over the trail he had already blazed and on around
the world? Rotary was the child of his imagina on and he coveted for
his child every advantage which he had enjoyed.

Vladimir Pu n, wan ng to get on the good side of
voters, goes to visit a school in Moscow to have a
chat with the kids.
He talks to them about how Russia is a powerful
na on and how he wants the best for the people.
At the end of the talk, there is a sec on for quesons. Li le Sasha puts her hand up and says: "I
have two ques ons.”
"Why did the Russians take Crimea, and why are we sending troops to the
Ukraine?"
Pu n says, "Good ques ons.” But just as he is about to answer, the bell rings and
the kids have to go to lunch.
When they come back, they sit down and have me for some more ques ons.
Another girl, Misha, puts her hand up and says "I have four ques ons,”
Mr. Pu n says, “And what would those be?”
Why did the Russians invade Crimea?
Why are we sending troops to the Ukraine?
Why did the bell go off 20 minutes early?
And where is Sasha?"
