Getting To Know You
In an effort to promote the warm community feeling we strive for here at KMS, we have begun to introduce you to two KMS
members per week. We hope you enjoy meeting your fellow members and will use these brief bios as a catalyst to introduce
yourself to others at KMS.
Eliyana Adler and Steve Bickel
Eliyana Adler and Stephen Bickel migrated from
the west coast to the east and have been members
of KMS for the past 14 years. Eliyana is a professor
of History and Jewish Studies at Penn State
University and Steve is an energy efficiency

daughters Rana, Maya, and Selah, each of whom
attended a different school this past year. Next year
Rana and Maya will be learning in Israel and Selah
will enter the tenth grade.
Over the years Eliyana has served on the Education Committee at KMS, including as VP of Education. She has also held
leadership roles in the Women’s Tefillah Group. Steve has been involved in several environmental initiatives and currently
serves as co-chair of a Kiddush Committee. The family’s favorite part of KMS is the warm and open community of friends
who don’t mind when they spontaneously drop by their houses on Shabbos and the vegetarian chulent at Kiddush.
