Welcome to MYSTERY SHOP’s production of DEATH IN PRIME TIME. THE STORY TV director CHRIS HALL is doing a re-make of a famous sit-com from the 80’s, called The Foster Formula. The original show was canceled after the death of its star, beloved actress – Claire Crawford. Today, three actresses are up for the part formerly held by Claire. RITA CRAWFORD, daughter of famous actress Claire Crawford, assumes she will automatically get the part because of her mother’s legacy. MORGAN AMBROSE just finished a very successful run of another sit-com. She played the quirky best friend to the show’s lead. MARY LOU ROGERS is a sweet young thing who just arrived in Hollywood from Beatrice, NE with stars in her eyes. THE FORMAT This production is one of our two-hour adult mysteries (Murder in Three Acts). You are about to see a short play presented by MYSTERY SHOP actors. LISTEN AND WATCH CAREFULLY! Important information necessary to solve the mystery is incorporated in the play. The play is divided into acts. At the end of each act, you will have the opportunity to question suspects, examine evidence and “buy” information. 1. Act 1 2. First opportunity to question suspects, examine evidence and “buy” information. 3. Reconvene for Act 2 (action takes place one week later) 4. Another opportunity to gather clues and ask questions. Solution sheets distributed. 5. Solution sheets collected and graded. 6. Act 3 – SOLUTION (winners announced) QUESTION SUSPECTS At the end of each act, the characters will be available to answer any questions you might have. And don’t be afraid to ask personal and pertinent questions. As any good detective knows, you really have to probe to get at the truth. EXAMINE EVIDENCE THE MYSTERY SHOP has public clues for you to examine. They will be located on a clue table. Some of the clues are essential to solving the mystery; others are not. It’s up to you to decide which is which. “BUY” INFORMATION Many of the public clues lend themselves to further analysis. You can “buy” results of the analyses with the enclosed MYSTERY SHOP Investigation Bucks. Be careful! You do not have enough Bucks to buy all the information. Spend your Bucks wisely. Feel free to pool your resources with other people – or not. It’s up to you. How to “buy” information: Just let the MYSTERY SHOP representatives know what information you want, give us the appropriate amount of Bucks, and we will supply the information. The availability of such items are marked with Police Evidence numbers and are located on the clue table. See your MYSTERY SHOP representatives and let them know which one(s) you would like to purchase. SOLUTION SHEETS At the appropriate time, your MYSTERY SHOP representative will distribute solution sheets for you to fill out. You can gather information and ask questions all the way up to the time you hand in your solution sheets. We will be asking questions about things you heard or saw in the play as well as information found in the clues. Good detectives pay attention to the smallest details – so stay alert! Return your completed solution sheets to your MYSTERY SHOP representatives with any BUCKS you have left over. We use the Bucks as a tie breaker.
