NRHH 9:13 PM
Brendan: We wanted to let you all know, our GI is this Thursday night at 7 so come to
learn more about Tunnel of Oppression. Also, if you are applying, going to this will
count. Applications are due by November 15 th along with letters of support.
Newpaltz.edu/nrhh. Of the Months are due tonight by MIDNIGHT!
SENATE 9:15 PM
Rose: I have a special guest tonight, Pres Josh.
Josh: I'm the President of SA, through my position I'm also the Vice Chair for CAS, you
can complain to me about things. We just created a new committee, with a 40 thousand
dollar budget. There are two RHSA seats available in hopes on doing researching
getting rid of selling water bottles on campus. It's called the Pepsi Marketing
Committee. Our main task is to get rid of water bottles on campus. I'm here to see if
anyone is interested in joining.
Crispell: Is that the only task?
Rose: I'm on it, with two reps from SA
Josh: Once there are reps from RHSA we can work further on goals. As long as it's
going to benefit the campus.
Esopus: When are the meetings?
Rose: We don't know yet. It depends on people's schedules.
Capen: Is it only open for RHSA members?
Rose: It depends on what hall you are from, but I would say no.
Josh: Would anyone like to nominate someone? There's 40 thousand dollars that needs
to be spent due to contract reasons towards something that is going to benefit the
campus committee. There's talks about hydration stations instead of water bottles, but
it's really up to the committee itself once it \s created. It's a ton of money. It can be
anything. Anything else?
Heather: Can e-board members be on it?
Rose: I guess you can be on it. We don't want to rush it, but we have to get people on it
so we can get things started.
Heather: Can I nominate myself?
Esopus: Second.
Capen: Can I nominate myself?
Deyo: Second
Rose: So you two have to come up and say why they want to be on the committee.
Esopus: Can I try?
Crispell: Second
Kelvin: You have one minute to tell us why you should be on this committee.
Heather: Hey everyone, my name is Heather Rae and I'm involved with SA, and I've
worked hand and hand with the eboard. I'm very involved. I work on print quotas and
stuff like that. I am perfectly qualified. I have been on other regional committees. I also
really enjoy the hydration station in Crispell. It's filtered and delicious. That's it.
Q &A: Crispell: Move to close q and a
Esopus: second
Rachel: Hi, my name's Rachel I'm from Capen. University of Vermont was a very
environmentally friendly, and since I have come here I noticed it lacks here and if I’m
elected it really can make a positive influence on the campus.
Capen- motion to close q and a
Crispell- second
John: My name is John from Esopus Hall. I would like to be more generally involved
with RHSA. I like the idea of a more sustainable campus. I like the thought that people
can refill water bottles very easily. I like the idea of being on a committee with a creative
mindset
Lenape: Move to close q and a
Bliss: Second
Kelvin: Right now, we're going to have three minutes discussing the candidates.
Crispell: I think Rachel's a good candidate for the position. It sounds like she has
experience.
Scudder: It's two positions, right?
K: Yes
Scudder: I just wanted to make sure. I think that the thing that needs to be decided to
have someone with experience to enrich or someone with less experience to gain a
greater depth on the campus experience.
Esopus: I think Heather would be a good candidate for the committee. She's on the eboard and has more connections.
Esopus: Motion to close
Deyo: Second
Crispell: Move to vote
Deyo: second
Kelvin: Ballot vote your choices are:
Heather
Rachel
John
No one
Abstain

committee!
