Aim of MarTERA
› To strengthen the European Research Area (ERA) in
maritime and marine technologies as well as Blue Growth
› Focus of development given to technologies (instead of
sectors)
› Large impact to a wide range of application fields
› To bring industry and research actors across borders together

MarTERA Call criteria
› Proposed project must relate to one of the topics/sub-topics in
the Priority Area Matrix
› The project proposals should involve industry.
› At least two independent eligible legal entities from two
different European Member States or associated countries

MarTERA Call criteria
›
The proposal should be novel and not correspond with on-going or
completed projects funded by other instruments, programmes or
projects.
›
Requested funding range 1 to 2 Mio € per project
›
The total amount of funding requested from a funding organisation in
a proposal may not be higher than the available budget for this
organisation.

› Project duration: 36 months
› Pre-proposal and the full proposal must be submitted correctly
and completely before the respective deadlines via the
MarTERA Submission Tool (www.martera.eu )
› Proposal must be written in English

FUNDING AND RISK necessity for funding and risk, scientific and
technological risks, investigations with a risky character
›
WORKPLAN: methodology, research design, first work plan details
›
CONSORTIUM COMPOSITION: describe the consortium partners and the
necessity of cooperation
›
FINANCIAL PLAN: personnel, travel, material and equipment,
consumables, other costs like subcontracts, depreciation and rent/leasing,
overheads requested funding, total own contribution, total costs
› some types of costs may not be fundable by all funding
organisations
