Schoolwide Service
When we give we receive much more than what we have given.
CELA 7th Grade Students Lead Chapel
Our 7th grade students put on a fantastic chapel on repentance! They
acted out a modern day version of
the prodigal son. Their lesson helped
our students understand the relevance of repentance in their lives.
Our seventh graders also reenacted
a CELA staff meeting on how to
teach repentance. The students
dressed in “teacher dress code” and
did an amazing job capturing the
personalities of our unique and talented staff. Dr. Galster’s impression
of a middle school student was spot
on! Be sure to check CELA’s Facebook page for all the great pictures!
Students are doing a great job
supporting Soles for Jesus!
CELA will collect shoes until
January 31st! In addition, our
Chapel Families will be decorating canvas shoes with drawings and Bible verses to go
with the other shoes for Soles
for Jesus. It’s fun for students
to add creativity to their giving.

Mrs. Fallon’s Parent Technology Tips
Can you believe we are already halfway though our second year at CELA? I am blessed to be part of a community
so dedicated to continually improving the way we teach students. I want to thank each one of you for all of the grace
you have given us and the time you have taken to learn how to use the CELA-provided technology. I realize there
may be roadblocks from time to time, but I appreciate your willingness to work with us to continually improve the use
and function of the technology at CELA. My goal is to help teachers and students utilize technology in ways that will
make learning more fun, efficient, and effective at school and home.
In order for us to continue learning and growing in the area of technology we have created an in-depth survey that we
will be asking each family to complete. This survey has three purposes:

Raise awareness of the resources available on the CELA home laptops

Help us determine the kinds of technology training we can provide to families

Show us which resources are valued and used at home so we can make informed decisions when renewing
and purchasing programs in the future
We truly appreciate all that you have done and continue to do to help make CELA a great community of learners. It is
amazing to be a part of a school that is full of families and staff who are eager and willing to do everything they can to
make learning and education meaningful and enjoyable for their students.
Praise God for all the work he has already done in and through this school!
Specials Showcase
Each month we will highlight different elective classes and teachers.
— 21st Century
Christian Leadership 1 —
In Leadership 1: Our world demands dynamic Christian leaders. We cannot simply rely on those older than us; we need to be prepared to impact
our world even today. To do that, students need to learn specific qualities, skills, mindsets, and behaviors of Christian leaders. Trimester 2 of
21st Century Christian Leadership will be broken down into six main units
with student projects at the end of those units. Students will interview
community leaders based on knowledge gained through the course
to support a real-world perspective on 21st Century leadership.
— Jeanne Andreski & Evan Hays —
Here is a short summary of each of the units:
1. 21st Century Leadership – What makes a Dynamic Leader: This unit will provide the foundation for the course and
ensure that students know what it means to be a 21st century leader.
2. Leading with a Purpose – Developing Your Gifts and Talents: This unit will focus in more on what God-given gifts
and talents our students have, help to identify them, and help students to put them into practice in their context.
3. Accountability – Responsible Leaders: This unit will help students learn to be accountable, reflective, and responsible leaders who know how to evaluate themselves and work well with others to pursue success.
4. Christian Leadership – Applying Morals and Values: This unit will focus on what it means to be a Christian leader.
We have certain morals and values that make us distinct as Christians, and these are the values our world needs.
5. Collaboration – Leading as a Team: This unit will focus particularly on teamwork and collaboration because all
leaders need to work in teams to carry out their mission.
6. Leadership with Belief and Vision: This unit will focus on the crucial elements of belief and vision; those elements
which allow a project to get up off the ground and then to be brought to completion despite the inevitable barriers
and challenges along the way.
Everything that we do in 21st Century Christian Leadership will be undergirded by our Christian viewpoint of leadership, which is summed up well by 1 Peter 4:10, which says, “10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
