Project: Faulty Advertisement Many times, companies make not-so-true statements to advertise their products. In this project, it is your job to make two advertisements for a product or service. One advertisement needs to have sound logic. The other needs to be a faulty advertisement. Both advertisements need to advertise the same product or service. You may work with ONE partner, or you may work alone. Requirements for FAULTY Advertisement: Create at least two if-then statements that can be related with the Law of Syllogism o If p then q. If q then r. Therefore, If p then r. Use faulty logic to create a conclusion. On the back of the advertisement, explain why the conclusion is not correct. Provide the inverse, converse, and contrapositive of your conclusion. Create an advertisement poster (at least the size of a piece of copy paper) that uses the faulty conclusion. Requirements for the SOUND Advertisement: Create at least two if-then statements that can be related with the Law of Syllogism o If p then q. If q then r. Therefore, if p then r. Use sound logic to create a conclusion. On the back of the advertisement, explain why the conclusion is correct. Provide the inverse, converse, and contrapositive of your conclusion. Create an advertisement poster (at least the size of a piece of copy paper) that uses the sound conclusion. Example of Faulty Advertisement: If you have MTOWN cross-trainers, you’ll exercise twice as often. If you exercise twice as often, you’ll gain 10lbs in muscle in 90 days. Therefore, if you have MTOWN cross-trainers, you’ll gain 10lbs in muscle in 90 days! MTOWN TRAINERS—GAIN MUSCLE IN 90 DAYS! *A video may be done instead of two posters.
