Fall Sports Wrap Up
Volleyball: The volleyball girls wrapped up their awesome
season Saturday, October 24th, in Florence vs. Wausaukee in a close
2-2 game with the 5th being the deciding factor. We are losing four
very important senior starters, Jessica Miller, Beth Pries, Autumn
Aderholt, and Kim Yingling. All four girls added something different
to the great team we had together this year.
Thoughts from Marissa Popp: “I think it went good for the most
part, we should have beat Florence. for conference, but I’m glad we
beat them in regionals. I’m sad to see the seniors go. They had a
great season and volleyball next year will be really different without
them.”
Cross Country: With another Conference Championship in
the bag for the boys and a first for the Cross Country girl’s team
heading off to state! Megan Tarlton 16:20, Miranda Tarlton 17:00,
Marissa Bartels 17:35, Allana Benaszeski 18:23, Brittany Mischo
18:27, Whitney Aschinger 19:09, Hannah Tinsman 19:53 were the
lucky ladies from our team to make it to state. Five boys and three
girls were named All-Conference. Good luck at state girls!
Football: Laona-Wabeno football took conference with a record
of 8-1, losing to Coleman in a cross-over game. The boys are still
going strong as they played in Suring against Manawa on Tuesday
October 27th. Good luck boys and keep heading to playoff finals.

Editorial
By Stevie Menne
People are always said to be entitled to their own opinion.
I’m about to share my own opinion on our school’s
atmosphere and how it seemed to change over the years.
My opinion has changed a lot over the years. When I was
younger, and the thought of high school came across my
mind, I thought one thing, freedom. I felt like when I
entered high school I was going to be able to do so much
more than in elementary school. Truth is, I don’t think
much has changed at all. Some teachers still treat us as
if we’re in 3rd grade, although some students may act
like that, but not all. The only definite thing I can think of
that is different is that we can chew gum and sit where we
want in the lunch room. In 7th grade I couldn’t wait for my
freshman year to roll around so during lunch I could go on
the mez. Now we have to stay in the gym.
I thought high school was going to be fun or at least some
what enjoyable. Many kids find any excuse they can to be
able to skip one day, maybe even one hour.
School is a place for the students to blossom, learn, and
enjoy being there. So shouldn’t the students have a say in
some things, other than the school dances. I’m getting sick
of being told a list of the things I’m not allowed to do. A
shorter list would be one telling me what I can do.
New Rebel Roller Football Field
The staff and students of Wabeno School District wish to thank the
community and all the volunteers who worked on the new football field.
All the time and hard work that was donated to this project gave the school
a showplace of a stadium that will last for years.
At the dedication of the new field Ted Bartels and Clint Aderholt
were recognized for their contributions. Mr. Bartels was instrumental in
getting the underground watering system installed and Mr. Aderholt used
his expertise in installing the lighting.
Thank you to all the volunteers that gave of their time and effort.
HOMECOMING
By: Stacy Roy
This year for homecoming the dress up days were – Monday, “Neon Day”, Tuesday,
“Twin Day”, Wednesday, “Class Color Day”, Thursday, “Hawaii Day” and Friday, was Rebel
Roller day. At the pep rally we wished the guys good luck before they charged the field. After
the game, we celebrated our victory over the Blue Jays at the homecoming dance. At the dance
we crowned the homecoming kings and queens. The homecoming kings are Derek Wilson and
Tyler Beyer, queens were Johanna Stagwell and Beth Pries.
Freshmen yearbook members show off their colors for Neon Day!
SNOW SNOW SNOW
Most people love snow! When
it snows you can go snowmobiling,
snowboarding, sledding, skiing
and, the always awesome, snowball
fights! You can also make snowmen
and snow angels. Willie Doyle’s
favorite part about when it snows is
when he is shredding the gnar. Tyler
Beyer’s favorite part about snow is
when he is ripping a powder turn
out in the fresh pow! Another great
thing about snow is possibly getting
a snow day. Everyone loves a snow
day, even TEACHERS! A snow day
for teachers is like a paid holiday
or money in the bank. This is why
everyone loves snow!
Role Models the movie
The movie takes place when two men, Danny,
and Wheeler are trying to get drugs out to
schools and to make them drink the angry
drink called Manatar. Then, when Danny
goes to his to his girlfriend’s work, she breaks
up with him. Dannie drove the truck on the
school’s horse statue. They have a choice to go
to prison or go to study wing to help students.
Wheeler has to take care of Ronnie. Ronnie
makes the people who take care of him quit in
one day. Danny takes care of Plumking who
likes to play Lair, a combat game. Dannie,
Ronnie, Wheeler, and Plumking have to
battle out the people of Lair and to kill the
king! Plumking kills the king but the girls
kill Plumking. In the end all the warriers get
together and tell the stories of the battle they
just had. Danny sings for the first time to Beth
and they get together.
This movie is vary funny.
