2016 Charlie Baker Time Trial Series

Come test yourself in the “'Race of Truth”! Open to riders of all fitness levels.
Entry fee $10 ($5 for North East Bicycle Club Members, free for juniors under 18). Fee
includes USA Cycling Insurance. Riders either must have a USA Cycling license or may
purchase a one-day license onsite for $10 (Annual licenses may also be purchased at the
event). The event is conducted under USAC Permit 2016-1394.
Each CBTT Race Entry grants the rider a $25 Discount at the Speed Merchant Aero
Research & Testing (SMART) Low Speed Wind Tunnel (LSWT) in Plaistow, NH

Registration: 5:30 - 6:00pm at the Old North Bridge Parking Lot, Monument St., Concord, MA.
Registration closes at 6:00pm. No latecomers will be accommodated. Mandatory Riders
Meeting at 6:00 pm in Parking Lot. First rider starts at 6:15 pm. Please line up off the road at
start, stay out of traffic and do not leave for the start until 5 minutes before your start time. Last
rider leaves at 7:00 or 30 minutes before civil twilight. Please follow all the rules of the road.
Any infraction will result in disqualification. Parking is limited, so please ride to the event, if
possible.
Course: 9.75 miles of rolling terrain
• Start: NE corner of Lowell Rd/ Barnes Hill Rd.
• At 4.5 miles bear right through Carlisle Rotary yielding to traffic.
• At mile 6 turn right onto River Rd (which turns into Monument St. at mile 7 at the Concord
town line).
• At 9.5 miles turn right on to Liberty Rd. The finish is 0.25 miles ahead at top of the short hill.

Directions to Parking and Registration
From I-95 North or South:
• Take Rte. 2 West 4 miles to the second light on Rte.2 (Crosby's Corner, where Rt. 2 makes a
sharp left at the bottom of a hill).
• Continue straight across the intersection onto Cambridge Turnpike.
• Bear left after 1.3 miles at the stop sign (Lexington Rd, Rt. 2A)
• At the Concord Center Rotary, travel toward the Colonial Inn.
• Turn right on Monument Street directly in front of the Colonial Inn.
• Travel 0.5 mile on Monument, parking is on the right in the Visitor Area just after the road
splits. This is the Old North Bridge parking lot where registration will take place.
From I-495 or Points West:
• Take Rt. 2 East to the Concord Rotary.
• Take the third rotary exit onto Barretts Mill Road (2/3 of the way around the rotary).
• At the 4-way stop sign on Barretts Mill Road at Lowell Road (Time Trial Start Line) continue
straight across the intersection onto Barnes Hill Road.
• After about 0.75 mile, take a left onto Liberty Street (TT finish area).
• Take your next right onto Monument St. Parking is 0.5 mile down on the left. This is the Old
North Bridge parking lot where registration will take place.

The Speed Merchant Aero Wind Tunnel Test Labs (www.speedmerchantaero.com), now in its
5th year of operation, is a state of the art Aerodynamics Testing Facility designed with the
needs of the Competitive Cyclist and Triathlete in mind. It is founded and operated by a group
of Engineers and Scientists who just so happen to also be competitive cyclists themselves.
