Employee Spotlight: Shane Atwood, Inside
Sales Manager
What is your job title, and what does that position entail?
As the Inside Sales Manager-Pacific iD I talk to a lot of people
every day.
How long have you worked at Pacific-ID, where did you come from?
I have worked for Pacific iD, I think for almost 7 years, it has been a long time and the years pass
very quickly. I grew up in a small, farm town in central North Dakota.
Can you tell us a little about your background and how it helps you in this position?
I have a degree in Business and Minor in Psychology from a small University in North Dakota. I
picked up making things work, in the industry, from my farming background and from learning on
the job with all the great people I work with.
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
Do your best and always have fun. The customer can easily see if you are enjoying what you do. If
you don’t know the answer to a question it is OK to ask. Most likely the question will come up again
in your career and then you will be able to answer it correctly with confidence.
What do you like best about working at Pacific-ID?
It is all about the people you work with. If you are not having fun, it can make for some very long
days. We have a great group of people and we work hard and play hard.
What was your first job ever?
My first job was working on my parent’s grain farm in North Dakota. I can run almost any large
piece of farm machinery. I can also talk about the weather for hours.
Do you have a favorite Sports Team?
My favorite football team is the Seattle Seahawks. Go Hawks!
Has anything exciting or interesting ever happened to you?
I competed in the Zombie run in Seattle couple years ago. The best part
was driving home with the makeup on and seeing the reaction of the
people in the cars that would pull up beside me.
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of work?
I am an avid BBQ cook. I have taken many classes and have even competed on a local level. The
best I ever did in a competition was Reserve Grand Champion with 2nd place in Chicken and 2nd place
in Ribs. I am also a Fly Fisherman, Hunter and Shooter
What is one thing your customers might find surprising about you?
A few years back I weighed 350 lbs. I got a lap band and lost over 150 lbs and now have a stable
healthy weight and have kept the weight off for over 8 years.
