January 30th, 2014 Mr. Lorry Wagner, President Lake Erie Energy Development Corp. (LEEDC0] 1938 Euclid Avenue, Suite 200 Cleveland, Ohio 44115 Dear Mr. Wagner: Moms Clean Air Force is a community of moms and dads united against air pollution including the urgent crisis of our changing climate to protect our children’s health in Ohio and across the country. — — Moms Clean Air Force holds the position that there is an urgent need to protect our environment by developing more clean energy resources. Offshore wind is an attractive option because it emits no pollution, can achieve significant scale, and can be developed in a responsible and economical way. Moms Clean Air Force believes that the Great Lakes region is perfectly suited to fully realize the economic and environmental benefits of America’s small but growing offshore wind power industry. The region holds up to 700GW of offshore wind potential and is currently the most dependent region in the country on electricity from coal fired power plants. Moms Clean Air Force recognizes that your organization, Lake Erie Energy Development Corp. (LEEDC0), is a regional non-profit and economic development organization building an offshore wind power industry in Ohio to improve the environment, protect public health, create local jobs, and advance the nation’s energy security. Moms Clean Air Force further recognizes that LEEDCo is currently working to develop a demonstration project called “Icebreaker” to help catalyze an industry and spur additional development throughout the region. The first project, scheduled for completion in October 2017, will consist of six 3MW wind turbines in Lake Erie approximately 7 miles off the coast of Downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Moms Clean Air force appreciates LEEDCo’s efforts in reaching out the to Environmental Community as important stakeholders in this project. LEEDCo’s commitment to protect Lake Ecosystems and develop offshore wind responsibly is evident. Moms Clean Air Force congratulates LEEDCo on the success of its Power Pledge initiative. The Power Pledge is a way for offshore wind supporters throughout Ohio to say they want a portion of their electricity from offshore wind. Those who sign the Power Pledge are saying they would be willing to pay a little bit more on their electricity bill to help fund the project This program is proving that there is a large unfilled market for locally genera ted offshore wind energy in Ohio. As such, Moms Clean Air Force expresses its support for Lake Erie Energy Development Corp.’s efforts to build an offshore wind power industry in Northeast Ohio for the Great Lakes Region and for its POWER Pledge initiative. Moms Clean Air Force will further collaborate with LEEDCo on an ongoing basis to find opportunities fur future cooper ation in service of shared objectives. Sincerely, lqueBo Director Moms Clean Air force
