Clarification for those competing in APSB Classes below:
 Firstly, APSB is NOT a breed – it is a society that administers ten pure breeds and four registers under its umbrella
 All eligible breeds of APSB can compete in their section at the Ipswich Show
 The 10 Pure Pony Breeds are:
1. Shetland
2. Australian
3. Hackney Pony and Hackney Horse
4. New Forest
5. Welsh (all sections)
6. Highland
7. Dartmoor
8. Fell
9. Connemara
10. Fjord Horse
 Those ponies recorded in any of the four Registers within the APSB are INELIGIBLE to compete in classes dedicated to
the APSB pure breeds
 The Four Registers are:
1. APSB Part Bred
2. APSB Riding Pony
3. APSB Timor Pony
26
4. APSB Gypsy Cob
 All ponies must be entered in the name of the registered owner who must be a financial member of the APSB Society
Inc. It is not necessary for the handler, rider or driver to be the financial member.
 What Breed is my Pony? – The APSB registration certificate of each pony states the specific breed. It is placed directly
under the pony’s name on the top left hand corner of the certificate.
 PLEASE NOTE: A pony can only compete in ONE APSB breed section – ie. An Australian Pony CANNOT compete in the
Welsh Pony section and vice versa.
