District Governor’s
April Message
Fellow Lions:
Just a few things to talk about this time that are very important to how our district finishes
off the Lions year.
MEMBERSHIP
Right now we have a membership in our district of just 1202 members down from 1225 at the
beginning of the year. Here’s some interesting facts , we have added 95 members BUT we have
dropped 118, we have to really try to save our members. Have we asked why they left? Is there
anyway we could have saved them? Exit interviews do work, let’s get these new members
involved you will have them longer. People join Lions to SERVE THEIR COMMUNITY,
LIONS LEAVE BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO
SERVE. We are now at the lowest this district has ever been and we still have 2 clubs that will be
disbanded soon another 20 members gone. We have to get new members not for LCI, not for the
DISTRICT you need new Lions for you’re your club , your community to continue what we do
best WE SERVE. Get out there, don’t be complacent , ASK ONE TIL YOU GET ONE!
LION’S DAY OF SERVICE DISTRICT N4
MAY 6th 2017 will be our first Lions Day of Service for District N4 hopefully this will become
an annual event. This is the day all clubs in our district get out in their communities pick a project
that will service the community, it could be a clean up, a community BBQ, mowing grass ( or
shovelling snow) for a senior. Work with a cadet or youth group , get out there WEAR YOUR
VESTS let people see you doing things in your community you may be surprised at the notice
you get. This come from my theme BACK TO THE BASICS, I think if we let people see us
they may strike up a conversation which will give you a chance to talk about the GREATEST
SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE WORLD and also give you a chance to ask them to a
meeting which could lead to you getting a new member.
I would like all clubs to write me let me know whatv you doing on that day I would like to keep a
list of what we are doing.
Our founder Melvin Jones said… “You can’t get very far until you start doing something for
someone
else!”
