Special Needs Awareness Day with State Representative Ryan Mackenzie
Greater Philadelphia NAMIWalk
Team Magellan, along with the members of the Newton care management center, raised
$2,642 for the 2014 NAMI walks. This year’s Greater Philadelphia NAMIWalk was held at
Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell. Magellan, one of the many sponsors
of the event, had a table with literature covering many mental health issues and resources
for participants. Many agency providers also sponsored the walk and offered information
about the resources that each agency has available.

Mental Health Awareness Day
In May, Magellan participated in a Mental Health Wellness Day event that was held at the
Clubhouse of Lehigh County. This fun-filled day included a healthy walk from the
Clubhouse to The Allentown Fairgrounds, a FREE scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream,
valuable mental health resources, and ended with a balloon launch. Magellan sponsored
the event and purchased the t-shirts for participants.

Special Needs Awareness Day
In March, Magellan participated in State Representative Ryan Mackenzie’s Special Needs
Awareness Day. This was a day for family and friends who are involved with children or
adults with special needs. Magellan was one of more than 40 businesses providing
information about resources and services available to families in Pennsylvania.
