Meet the Welborn Foundation Wellness and Fitness Center Staff CODY RILEY, FITNESS TECHNICIAN Cody enjoys working with all ages and experience levels and tries to make each training session both challenging and fun. He is enthusiastic and passionate about health and fitness and strives to continue learning about his profession. His goal is to provide a safe and effective program with support and concern for each participant’s development. Cody graduated from USI with a degree in Psychology and is an American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Group Exercise Instructor, and Certified Cycling Instructor. Cody is also a personal trainer at the Dunigan YMCA and Nitro Fitness. He specializes in strength training, weight loss, endurance training, sport-specific training, and functional training. His philosophy is teaching, learning and always improving. Cody loves mountain biking and got to compete in the ITU Triathlon World Championship. MEGAN KRAEMER, FITNESS TECHNICIAN Megan is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a B.S. degree in Exercise Science with a minor as a Personal Trainer. She has obtained her Certified Group Exercise Instructor certification through the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and is working towards her Certified Personal Trainer certification through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Megan wants to emphasize her career studies on training bariatric patients and mentally/physically disabled clients. While in school, Megan did a field experience at Sports Acceleration and completed an internship here at the WFWFC. Megan is a member of the American Legion ladies Auxiliary Post 290, the Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society, and the Honors Program at USI. When Megan is not working she is volunteering at the Walk Now for Autism, the Special Olympics, USI Running Series, and Race for the Cure. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her autistic brother and her two dogs. KATELYNN SCHMITT, WORK STUDY Katelynn is a Work Study at the Fitness Center. She is a sophomore this year and is going to Ivy Tech to take her core classes, and then she plans on transferring to USI to get a B.S. degree in Psychology. Katelynn really enjoys working at the Fitness Center and says she has learned so much about health and wellness. Some of her hobbies include working out at the gym and staying active outside. Meet the Welborn Foundation Wellness and Fitness Center Staff JESSICA SUTTLES, WORK STUDY Jessica Suttles is a Work Study at the Ivy Tech Fitness Center. She has been at Ivy Tech for a year now, and she loves it! Jessica is an EMT and she is working on becoming a paramedic. Jessica has a one year old son named Keelan, whom she adores. She loves to read fantasy books, watch anime, and swim. After her son gets a little older, she hopes to become a volunteer firefighter, and keep helping people as a paramedic. She enjoys helping people and is eager to help get you started in the Fitness Center! AMY LUTZEL, WELLNESS & FITNESS COORDINATOR Amy is our Wellness & Fitness Coordinator. She previously worked as a Health Advocate and Personal Trainer at St. Mary’s Healthy Lives and prior to that was a Fitness Tech for Ivy Tech and personal trainer and group exercise instructor at the Dunigan YMCA. Amy also taught classes in senior living centers and conducted private personal training sessions for people of all ages. Amy has two Bachelor’s degrees from USI in Communications and German and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health. She is a certified Health & Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches and received her personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine. Amy is also certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist through ACE. She is currently a member of the American College of Sports Medicine® and the International Association for Worksite Health Promotion and serves on several committees and boards including Smokefree Evansville, is a Corporate Champion for the Healthy Communities Partnership of Southwest Indiana, member of Community Health Needs Assessment, Suicide Prevention Coalition, and the YMCA Health Initiatives Advisory Board. When Amy isn’t exercising or competing in races, she is busy volunteering for several organizations including St. Mary’s No One Dies Alone program and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She even ran in the Marathon for the Cure in Washington, D.C. and raised over $6,200 towards breast cancer research. Amy also loves to travel and spend time with her husband and six-year old daughter whom they adopted from China.
