SEAVIPER SPECIFICATION

SEAVIPER SPECIFICATION
BREAKING THE MOULD
Seaviper
The Seaviper workboat is a rigid collared boat (RCB) that is robust and lightweight.
Whereas a traditional rigid inflatable boat (RIB) has an inflatable collar to replace the
gunwales, the High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) 500mm collar tube is rigid and filled
with polystyrene (maximum water absorption of 10%). This provides intact buoyancy,
durability and speed. In contrast to the traditional RIB, the Seaviper offers a ‘life-time’
collar that is maintenance free (i.e. does not require regular pressure testing, or replacing for example, on a five year maintenance programme) and offers a robustness that
is extremely hard to penetrate (eliminates puncture repairs as required with inflatable
CSM / neoprene collars). The tubes do not sit in the water which combined with the
shallow draft of the vessel, delivers excellent manoeuvrability, speed, resistance to damage in low-speed collisions and improved sea-keeping that rough waters demand. The
Seaviper is not a roto-moulded vessel; it is constructed using traditional vessel construction methods against DNV GL standards.
Vessel applications:
Crew transfers from shore to work installations (i.e. oil platforms, fish farms, offshore Islands etc)
Crew transfer between offshore flotels and offshore work platforms
Fast response vessels
Dive boats
Patrol boats
Rescue boats
Safety boats
Regatta boats
Tenders for larger ships (i.e. transporting personnel, cargo etc from the quayside to the ship)
Choice of two beams with 15° hull dead-rise:
Beam 3M - 7M - 10M LOA
Beam 3.4M - 7M - 10M LOA
Single or twin engines located aft / stern:
Volvo Penta inboard with Alamarin-jet propulsion
Volvo Penta inboard stern drive
Outboard (Honda, Mercury or Yamaha)

Why High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)?
HDPE constructs vessels with remarkable adaptability, cost-efficiency and cross-industry application (sea and inland waterways). The result is the Seahorse Workboat, an almost indestructible and unsinkable practical workboat that offers tremendous strength,
intact buoyancy and a reliable working platform.

Naturally buoyant - specific gravity of 0.95,
Minimal absorption of moisture (0.01 – ISO 62) - excellent dimensional stability,
High UV resistance - manufacturer guarantee of 50 years,
Longevity in material life - provides vessel longevity (excess of twenty (20) years),
Anti-fouling and hull painting are not required – excellent chemical and corrosion,
Operating temperatures – minus 180oF (brittleness point) to 180oF (82oC),
High tensile strength - high impact and extreme abrasion resistance.
Lightweight – contributes to fuel efficiency, therefore lower fuel emissions,
Shorter construction times - a hull can be manufactured within six (6) weeks,
Sustainable - it is a recyclable material.
