INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF SHLUCHIM
26 Cheshvan - 2 Kislev 5772
November 23 - 28, 2011
LUBAVITCH WORLD HEADQUARTERS
770 Eastern Parkway
Crown Heights, New York
Welcome
Dear Shliach,
Welcome to the Kinus HaShluchim HaOlami 5772. This monumental
event once again brings together thousands of shluchim from five
continents and nearly every country of the world. Yet, as the Rebbe
often stressed, your individual participation is essential to the success
of this gathering of hearts and minds. Every single shliach is
indispensable to the body of shlichus, as we all play a vital role in the
greater picture envisioned by our Meshaleach. During these few days
together, we are able to truly appreciate this vision and thus gain
renewed energy to continue our important work.
The theme of this year’s Kinus is shxj t yvgd xg. These few words from
ouh ouhv inherently capture the essence of what a shliach must strive
for. Every shliach has a unique shlichus with its own circumstances,
triumphs and challenges. At the same time, we all share the common
merit of being u,unf ost ka ujuka. This immense ,ufz comes with the
responsibility of realizing, with every fiber of our being, that we
represent something far greater than ourselves. At any given moment
or place, a person encountering a shliach should be able to easily
recognize and declare: “That’s a chosid, that’s a shliach of the Rebbe.”
The Vaad HaKinus has put great effort to ensure that your time at the
Kinus is both meaningful and productive. A vast amount of workshops,
sessions, farbrengens and other programming were designed to enable
you to return to your ,ujhkav ouen with new ideas, innovative goals
and renewed energy and enthusiasm.
We encourage you to review the schedule and select programs, sessions
and workshops which interest you. We have ensured that the Kinus
covers a wide range of subjects, guaranteeing that you will find
programming applicable to your specific shlichus.
We truly hope that you will thoroughly enjoy the Kinus ,uhnadc
sjh od ,uhbjurcu.
We trust and pray, that the achdus engendered by the Kinus will bring
upon us the brochos of sjtf ubkuf ubhct ubfrc with the ultimate brocho
of ann curec vnkavu ,h,hntv vkutd.

PRE-TEEN AND TEENAGE INDEPENDENCE
CULTIVATING CHASSIDIM MEKUSHORIM
Tzon Kodoshim
Community Programming
More than just ages of majority, Bar and Bas Mitzvah heralds a key
transition in the lives of our children, one of both opportunities
and challenges. This workshop will focus on tools and strategies
to support the preparation for independence and privacy. The
workshop will also include a question and answer period with
practical answers about social media influences, physical changes
relating to their develop.m.ent and trust between parent and child.
The kavonoh pnimius of Hafotzas Hayahadus in shlichus is
Hafotzas Hamayonos. Hafotzas Hamayonos means more than
disseminating the teachings of Chassidus -- the Mayanos – but
entails the ‘bringing’ of the Mayon itself to the chutzah, and is
ultimately realized through the “making” of a chosid and
mekusher. How do we inspire this desire and feeling in our
mekurovim? How can we convey the centrality of ‘Rebbe’ in
avodas Hashem in general, and particularly after Gimmel
Tammuz? This session will explore the “Why” and “How” of
hiskashrus today.

SHLUCHIM MEDIATION PROGRAM: A
NEW RESOURCE FOR CONFLICT
RESOLUTION
Mosad Management
Shlichus is demanding and sacred work and it deserves all of our
energy and focus. Our Shlichus and our community suffer when
we are in conflict with other Shluchim. Mediation provides a way
to engage in a constructive discussion about the issues and to see
if the parties can design their own solution. It is normal for people
to find it difficult to have a conversation about disagreements, that
is why having a neutral mediator in the room to help guide the
discussion helps people find new ways to communicate with each
other. Those who are involved with the mediation program will
provide practical tips about how to improve relationships between
Shluchim, so that it is less likely that conflicts will develop. We are
confident that this program will lead to greater shalom amongst
Shluchim.

Andy Borans will discuss the new directions in which fraternities
and sororities are going. He will talk about the importance of
community, leadership, philanthropy, and AEPi’s unique Jewish
mission and why it partners with the Jewish community. He will
also cover some of the concerns that people have with fraternity
and sorority life. Andy will show Shluchim how we can better
intersect with that community on campus. One of the most
important aspects of fraternity and sorority life is recruitment,
involvement, leadership and retention. Andy will discuss methods
of how Shluchim can become more successful in developing their
