Shame holds me hostage but Jesus
DESPISED shame so that I might be
freed of it.
The Sequence of Shame
• Shame causes us to cover-up our mess with
inadequate means (Genesis 3:7)
• Shame causes us to seek refuge in ridiculous places
(Genesis 3:8)
• Shame causes us to run from the One we should run
to (Gen. 3:8,10)
• Only Jesus can reverse the curse of shame
(Genesis 3:15)
