Species Description
Brook trout, brown trout, and rainbow trout can
all be found in the Maple River.
The Maple River at Brutus Road is a designated
Type 4 trout stream. Please refer to the Inland
Trout and Salmon Stream Regulations in the
current Michigan Fishing Guide.
Directions to Site
There is a Miller VanWinkle Trout Unlimited
sponsored parking lot off the south side of Brutus
Road just west of the river crossing. From there,
you can either walk the road to the crossing, or
walk a trail/two-track off the parking lot that
parallels the river, with numerous access points to
the river.
