Editor’s Note
“Terrorism”
At the mere mention of this word, our minds swivel to all
thoughts pain-inducing - War, suffering, blood and bombs. But what
hides beneath this evil disguise of killing and revenge so plainly is
something so ordinary; confusion and misunderstanding. ‘Terrorist’
is just another name for a person who has either been tested by illtreatment all his life or someone to whom something has been
instilled into so deeply , that he is willing to spill blood for that cause
. And the seeds of these actions are usually sown deep into the
person at a young age, when their emotions are at their strongest
and they are the most vulnerable. These seeds are sure to be sown
into almost everyone around us – even you and me. However, the only
difference is that the fire for revenge grows unchecked in a few
people, kindled by small, everyday actions that give them more
reasons to want revenge, until the fire transforms into something
untamed and wild that leaves nothing but ruin in its path. But most
of us are fortunate enough to have few precious people in our lives,
who help in subduing that fire until it is nothing more than a slight
glow that we can wield as we please. But what we should consider is
this: is it really an individual’s fault that the thirst for revenge
grows within him, or the fault of those around him.
This month’s edition aims to bring out opinions of young and talented
writers about terrorism and how it has affected the many things
around us. We give you the freedom to conclude and decide whether
terrorism is always pointless and violent or whether there is some
meaning – a sliver of reason - behind every bomb, every death.

Article of the Month
The world is not what it was a billion years ago. It has evolved from
blundering Neanderthals and merciless predators, or so world-renowned
scientists claim. What most people don’t understand is that there is a fine
line between order and chaos. It’s often mistaken as complete opposites,
like yin and yang, when in reality there can be no order without chaos and
chaos without order. Journalists and authors spend countless hours
lamenting about making the world a better place and “spreading awareness”
and the meager audiences just think, “What’s the point?” We pride
ourselves in classifying our species as fully developed and sentient. We
take in pride in being able to talk, laugh, touch...rule. We are dominant, and
powerful. We have the motivation and determination to reach people and
form opinions. “Look at what we have achieved!”
News flash: we haven’t. There is no achievement without acceptance.
Over time, we have lost our sensitivity, understanding and most of all,
kindness. What is the point of humanity if there is neither acceptance nor
kindness? I could go on and talk about the world as a whole and the
terrorism affecting nations, bore my readers to death in the process.
Except, what people must understand is that, if one learns to accept and
love unconditionally, another can, too. Terrorism exists because it has been
drilled into our heads and conditioned into our minds that fear reaches
people. Fear, is the only way to get a human being to understand another.
Through complete knowledge that this article reached limited audiences,
I have chosen to create awareness. Only, awareness in oneself.
Hate kills. Hate is a strong word with as much power of that of
humans which has never done anything good. It has taken lives, hurt people,

and worst of all? It ruined our ability to accept. So, I have instead decided
to spread awareness on a seemingly small topic. Terrorism is just bullying
with guns. Endorse fear in the enemy and one shall celebrate victory. That
mentality must go. People focus on a group of people terrorizing another
group of people and yet barely focus on the fundamental problems. I was
always told, “Endorse kindness in the enemy and the enemy shall fall.”
No one can stop the terrorism going on right now. Everyone is just
fighting fire with fire. Logically, I see no point in this article if it does not
reach a reader or if it does not show them that one must not need to
change the entire world to make it a better place. So start off with loving
yourself. Love your diversity, your uniqueness. You do not need to love your
flaws but be sure enough that they are flaws, not who you are as a person.
The next step is to love others. Despite how annoying they may get
or how superficial they may seem to be, love others. Instead of hating
their flaws, show them that they can be a better person. Live with
kindness. Live with acceptance. Try and understand things from both
perspectives because in the end, we all live in the same world, breathe the
same air, walk the same soil. We are one species. Sure, we may be diverse,
but we are one.
Furthermore, I conclude with the following statement. We cannot stop the
terrorism going on now and we cannot move mountains with sticks. However,
we can stop it in the future. Be the best person you can be. Allow other
people to be the best person they can be. And maybe- just maybe- we can
yell with pride, “We are humans.”

Science Page
Acts of violence influenced by reasons such as politics and religion have
terrorized humanity for a very long time, and though it’s hard to say science
plays an important role in the change of terrorism over the past decades,
some might consider science good and some bad. No matter what it is, science
has changed the very prospect of terrorism. Guns, bombs (though I hate to
say it), missiles, jets all have advanced in ways unimaginable ,but a groundbreaking concept that is currently being implemented by the global American
aerospace company ‘Lockheed Martin’ for the US defence military might be
one of the most astonishing.
Hypersonic jets might not be something entirely new to some of us but when
affordability is taken into account it truly means something. In case you don’t
know, hypersonic is simply defined as Mach 5 meaning 5 TIMES THE SPEED
OF SOUND! At speeds of around 3800 mph to 6100 km/h, aircrafts could
cross the Pacific Ocean in a matter of 1 to 2 hours. The name designated for
this aircraft is the SR-72. Even at such speeds, the plane will be capable of
maintaining stealth and acting as a spy plane.
Hypersonic jets might not be completely useful without any weapons, which
is why Lockheed Martin also took the decision to develop hypersonic weapons.
The first of these concepts is called as the Hypersonic Air-Breathing Weapon
Concept, and though this might not be the first of the hypersonic concepts
it would be the first hypersonic weapon that can be manoeuvred at will. The
US defence believe this will make it possible for many extremists and
terrorists to be subdued. A simple idea would be that the plane could strike
quickly and escape any harm by doing so from high altitudes.
2023 is the date that we will be expecting to see these stealth jets speeding
in the air faster than we would have ever thought. This again might change
what would happen to practice of terrorism but who knows, if it is for good
or for bad?

Book Review
The Ruby Red Trilogy Book 1:
Ruby Red
16-year old Gwyneth Shepard is
almost invisible in her family of timetravellers. The time travel gene
passes on through the females in her
family, always skipping a generation
in between. And with her cousin
Charlotte, Montrose, having been
predestined to inherit the ability to
travel through time, Gwen had never
been the one in the spotlight.
When it is time for Charlotte to start showing symptoms,
however, it is Gwen who experiences two uncontrolled jumps
through time realizing the dangers on uncontrolled time travel,
Gwen confides in her mother, who wastes no time in presenting
Gwen to The Guardians. Most of The Guardians are reluctant to
trust Gwen's mother because of events in the past, but are
forced to believe her when Gwen travels to the past once again.
She soon meets her arrogant male counterpart, Gideon de
Villiers, and makes her first controlled travel using the
chronograph – a device that uses the time-traveller’s blood to
send them to a specific period in the past.

The journey was supposed to be safe; short; but it takes an
unexpected turn – a meeting, an ambush, a murder. It dawns on
Gwen, the dangers of not just being a time-traveller, but of being
the Ruby, the twelfth and last in the grand heritage, the key to
unlocking the Secret that has been buried in time for centuries.
Authored by Kirsten Gier, Ruby Red, the first in the Ruby Red
Trilogy, the book has managed to temper the futuristic and
scientific topic of time travel effectively, making it a thing of
the past, a much easier idea for the young readers to digest
rather than shaping it up to be a rather complicated idea of the
future. She has managed to lighten up the seriousness of the
book with the help of Gwen’s easy-going character and has
successfully fused the modern and the medieval world in the
pages of her gripping book that will easily capture the attention
of teenage book lovers.

Moto 360 sport
Motorola,
a
Lenovo
company
launched the Moto 360 sport on
April 27, 2016. This new smartwatch
was launched in the US long back
priced at $300. Now it’s available in
India on Amazon.in and Flipkart.com
at ₹19,999. It’s actually not much
different from the Moto 360 2nd gen, however, it does have a little
more features that are better suited for sports people and
youngsters as it looks sporty and not very formal.
This specific smartwatch comes with a rubber strap which was
never available in any of the other previous editions of the Moto 360.
It provides a soft and sweat proof fit. It is available in 3 colours Black, White and a sporty orange. The rubber strap is not removable
but it covers the sides, providing better impact protection. Two
major differences from the Moto 360 2nd gen is that this has an
extra GPS built-in for fitness tracking and secondly, it has a two
full-day battery life. It comes with a heart rate sensor at the back
as well. It also includes an ‘Anylight’ Hybrid display which
automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to the
external lighting; whether you’re out in the sun or shut inside a dark
room, it hardly matters to the Moto 360.
The Moto 360 2nd gen came with two size variants: 42mm and
46mm diameter. But unfortunately, the Moto 360 sport has only one
size, the smaller 42mm diameter. It comes with Corning Gorilla glass
3, providing reliable protection against impact. It is water and dust

resistant and rated IP67, but it can withstand depths only up to 1
meter for a 30-minute duration at a single stretch. It is equipped
with a Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400, which is a 1.2 GHz
Quad core processor and with an Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating
system. It also has an internal storage of 4GB and a 512MB RAM. It
does lack a camera, but it can provide notifications with vibrations
and MP3 sounds as it has as in-built speaker. It has dual microphones
with active noise cancellation which improves the voice recognition
feature.
It also has WiFi connectivity and provides a Low energy Bluetooth
4.0 which barely eats up your smartphone’s battery. It is equipped
with a lot of sensors- Accelerometer, altimeter, gyro and heart rate
sensors provide a wide range of functions. It has a 300 mAh battery
with Qi certified wireless charging and it comes with a wireless
charging dock, too. Once it has been placed on the wireless charging
dock, it turns into a night digital clock, showing the time and battery
level percentage with a variety of colour options. It has a new
feature, which is an MP3 player and a photo viewer, enabling the user
to listen to songs and view photos. It also provides a voice dialling
feature, perfect for people who take their calls when on the road.
Overall rating: 7/10 [It a has lot of new ,useful features helping
people in a lot of ways, but even then, users suggest that the battery
could have been better as it doesn’t actually last for two-full days
as claimed by the manufacturer]

Suicide Squad
From the world of DC comics...
Directed by: David
Ayer
A change is a big difference but it’s our choice to let the effects
be positive or negative upon the world. The movie 'Suicide Squad'
celebrates change but with those legendary villains and heroes
from the amazing DC comics, like the batman by Ben Affleck. The
movie stars Margot Robbie, Jared Letto, Will Smith, Cara
Delevingne, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye, and
Karen Fukuhara.
The movie goes like this, a witch in
the movie known as 'Enchantress'
has strange powers, and she with
her brother cast a spell to take over
the world. For not letting her
succeed Amanda Waller, a high
ranking government official desires
the ultimate villains in her custody,
Dead shot, Killer Croc, Harley
Quinn,
Slipknot,
and
Captain
Boomerang to do good but by adding suicide bombs strapped to
their chest (suggests the name suicide squad) , so if they
misbehave they die. And funnily they change from being bad guys
to being good guys, also they get to know that being bad isn't a
better side than being good and victory is a rewarding action by
itself. But they don't send Batman or the flash to fight her. With

action, often flash backs, amusing graphics, amazing story, and
romance too. But I feel the movie lost a lot of hopes of typical DC
fans, by not revealing teensy bits of the over famous DC heroes.
Other movies by the director: Fury, End of watch, Sabotage,
Street kings , Harsh times, S.W.A.T., Dark blue , Training day , The
fast and the furious, U-517, and Bright
