Our Christmas Eve Program

Candle Lighting
Silent Night, Holy Night
1.Silent night, holy night, all is calm,
all is bright
round yon virgin mother and child. Holy infant,
so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace,
sleep in heavenly peace.
2. Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake
at the sight;
glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing
Alleluia! Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!
3. Silent night, holy night, Son of God,
love’s pure light;
radiant beams from thy holy face with the dawn
of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
4. Silent night, holy night, wondrous star,
lend thy light;
with the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!

Away in a Manger
Hark! the Herald Angels Sing
1. Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
1. Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn
King;
The stars in the sky look down where he lay,
the little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.
peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners
reconciled!”
2. The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
but little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes;
I love thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
and stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.
3. Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay
close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
and fit us for heaven to live with thee there.
Joyful, all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies;
with th’angelic host proclaim, “Christ is born in
Bethlehem!”
Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King!”
2. Christ, by highest heaven adored; Christ, the everlasting
Lord;
late in time behold him come, offspring of a virgin’s womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see; hail th’incarnate Deity,
pleased with us in flesh to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel.
Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King!”
3. Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Sun of
Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings, risen with healing in his
wings.
Mild he lays his glory by, born that we no more may die,
born to raise us from the earth, born to give us second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King!”
Angels We Have Heard on High
1. Angels we have heard on high
sweetly singing o’er the plains,
1. O little town of Bethlehem ,how still we see thee lie; above
thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by.
and the mountains in reply
echoing their joyous strains.
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
2. Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
which inspire your heavenly song?
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
O Little Town of Bethlehem
3. Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ whose birth the angels sing;
Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light; the hopes
and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
2. For Christ is born of Mary,
and gathered all above, while mortals sleep, the angels keep
their watch of wondering love.
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
O morning stars together, proclaim the holy birth, and praises
sing to God the King, and peace to all on earth!
4. See him in a manger laid,
whom the choirs of angels praise;
3. How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given; so
God imparts to human hearts the blessings
of his heaven.
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
while our hearts in love we raise.
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
Glo - - - - - ri – a, in excelsis Deo!
No ear may hear his coming, but in this world of sin,
where meek souls will receive him, still the dear Christ enters
in.
4. O holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray;
cast out our sin, and enter in, be born in us today.
