of Reference for Languages, allowing learners to communicate more effectively in English from the moment they start.

Video
Grammar
Each unit centres on a high-quality
video that serves as the learning
vehicle, presenting the topic,
grammar, and key expressions in an
entertaining and memorable manner.
Annabel, the virtual teacher, presents
the grammar using examples from
the video. Learners then practise
using the new structures in a range of
written and oral activities.
Vocabulary
A set of words and phrases related to
the topic of the unit are presented by
the virtual teacher. Learners listen
to and repeat each word or phrase,
recording their voice and comparing
their pronunciation with that of a
native speaker.
Conversation
Self Check
After studying some useful conversation
phrases, learners put everything they have
learnt in the unit into practice in a simulated
conversation with one of the characters
from the video. They may record and repeat
the conversation as many times as they like.
Learners complete the unit by doing the
Self Check – an end-of-unit test that checks
whether they have assimilated the vocabulary,
grammar, and conversation phrases they have
studied. Learners must pass the Self Check for
the unit to be considered complete.
