Bob Hanson, former Sarasota IT chief, dies at 52
Bob Hanson, a former Sarasota County IT Director in Sarasota County, died last
Saturday in Colorado at the age of 52. While Bob was Director of the IT Department
of Sarasota County , it was ranked the second best in the nation and Hanson was also
credited with saving money by helping merge the IT departments of Sarasota County
and the Sarasota School district.
Bob was named one of the top 25 people in his field by Government Technology
magazine in 2005, Hanson resigned his job as head of the merged Sarasota County
government and schools IT department in the fall of 2009. Six months later, he was
named in an FBI corruption investigation.

Coastal Cleanup volunteers will be able to pick up their supplies Sept. 10-14, 2012
at two locations:
